Great news. Not crazy about the 1/4th announcement, but I can't wait for the main trio from Returns. I agree that Catwoman would be great as a DX with the Skywalker treatment (getting two bodies, one battle damaged), as her costume's slow destruction was a main visual element in the movie. I'm assuming she'll come with a whip and her taser, as well.

Batman makes complete sense, as the costume is very different (my favorite version, to be honest), and you can suck people back in with the ripped Bruce Wayne head. Can't wait for that remote-controlled batarang, and the vial he used on Catwoman.

Personally, I'd like all three to be DXs, as Penguin can come with a variety of umbrellas, maybe a fish, Mayor button, penguin, and a couple coats.

It will bother me if the 1/4th figures get a lot more accessories or something to make them worth whatever price tag Hot Toys is going to stick on them. I have no interest in starting another scale, as I'm already seven Batman figures deep in this scale. So it'll just make me wish the 1/6th figures had that cool stuff.

However, it won't bother me at all if the 1/4th figures are just the exact same molds blown up to a different size. If that happens, I won't feel like I'm missing a thing.

Yeah, what's with people not digging the 1/4 idea. For certain figures it'll be amazing. An 18" tall HT quality figure. What's not to love? :huh

Look no one is disputing how awesome 1/4 will look. If you want a Batman it will undoubtably be the best Batman of all time. It will look insane. It will also tempt all of us.

But then you will buy it 400 dollars later if not more. Get it, open it be all excited. Then get the Michael Keaton one... then the Tron Jeff Bridges lol.. then this then that then you have a house full of mandolls and your wife leaves you and you are broke lol. so you sell them all anyway because it;s just to damn much...

In all seriousness the point is that I just don't think most of us can handle it, from a price point and a space point. they move so hard and fast in 1/6 its a wonder we keep up anyways. I'm personally starting to feel like this is a monster I can't slow down.

Well, not really. He has that brown sewer coat as well as the tweed gray "cape" thing he wears outside as mayor.

Like Joker, this will probably be one look -- Mayor Penguin -- with which you could strip down to make a sewer Penguin sans the brown coat.

What else is there to the Penguin? His sewer suit is basically the onesie he has everything else is just extras that could fit over that. It would be like, I don't know, the Heath Ledger Joker having a full, regular suit and you can just take it off and have the interrogation version.

All of the above is completely doable in costume layers isn't it? There's nothing extravagant really.

- onesie (first layer)

- coat 1

- coat 2 (brown)

- coat 3 (mayor)

- waist coat (mayor)

- a few ties (mayor and regular)

- top hat

Then that's it really. Way less than any Joker we've ever seen.

I'd really only want the regular "wealthy, Mayor" version anyway.

Fair enough.

But I don't want Ferrari to stop making their cars for others because I can't afford one. :dunno

Well for what it's worth I wouldnt even mind if they spent most of the year making what they did in 1/6 1/4 just because i need a break.

Its a double edged sword, i keep looking to them to see whats next but every announcement i get both insanely excited and insanely overwhelmed. I can afford most of this...technicaly i guess... but think i could probably buy a nice car with what i've spent... maybe not a Ferarri.. maybe after next year lol.

It's all good bro (can I call you bro, Coco lets me :lol)....we all get overwhelmed and excited for this stuff, it's in all our blood.

You know it's in America's constitution that to be an American one must live beyond their means, be in massive debt and die broke owing a ton of money to banks. I flex my rights every day, so the way I look at it, HT is helping me be a great patriot :yess: :lol

Hmmm... After that post me thinks Raymond's problems may go beyond hating 1/4 scale man dolls.

:lol

Man doll = lol

Nah, I agree with Void and Raymond. Unless they're one offs of classic characters, 1/4 figures are lame.

1/4 is basically asking "at what scale, as a collector do I stop"? 1/3? 1/2? It's just unnecessary.

1/6 goes all the way back to those original GI Joe figures. Hot Toys took what made that toy, that scale great and added wonderful details and innovations to them. 1/4? I don't care what anyone says the only "wow factor", even if the figure looks amazing is the size. 1/4 is cool as a one off NECA figure, I own Robocop and the Endo myself. But a collectors "action figure", whaaaat?

That's why I don't get those stupid Gentle Giant Jumbo 12" Vintage figures.

A lot of you act as though BR figures were a given.

Do you think HT will make figures from either Schumacher film?

Arnold's Freeze is kind of like the Battle Droids. Idiotic but still fun and would be hard to pass up.

I bet Hot Toys is biased against the Schumacher films like they are against Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

They know fans love the Burton and Nolan films, with Schumacher figures, there's a risk involved.

That said, I would buy figures from Forever. I couldn't pass up on a few of them, especially the Riddler. The only figure I'd buy from Batman and Robin would be Freeze, and even then, I would be buying it "for the lolz".
