I don't think Batman Returns is coming anymore. I kinda, sorta had faith we'd see something this Spring/Summer, but the fact that the brand/license logo has, to date, NEVER been in any of their catalogs leads me to believe it ain't happening (that and the fact 2014 and 2015 will be filled with blockbuster Disney/Marvel movies that Hot Toys are already developing).

The fact that they were beaten to the punch by Mattel (and their multiverse line) makes it sting even more. Makes me wonder why Hot Toys teased this back in 2012 in the first place. It just seems so damn nonsensical looking back. What exactly did they achieve by doing that? Why not just say straight up in their QnA's that they're never coming?

It'd be awesome if they just surprised us with Batman at SDCC, but I'm not counting on it. I wonder how Arkham City fared?

Ludicrous that I was expecting AC Batman the last 2 years at various conventions and nothing. I love me some Iron Man butt they're not making any Killian or new Mark III's.

nonononononononononNONONONOOOOOOO..stop it, it's coming!

We just have to wait.

Didn't the head of Hot Toys just say in a recent interview that Batman Returns has been put off until 2015 or 2016 due to various licensing issues? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

I really want a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman but Anne Hathaway will tide me over for now. And who knows...maybe Hot Toys will surprise us with a Julie Newmar Catwoman soon.

It was fake.

In a real interview HT said that Batman figure was nearly finished.

Oh, okay--well that's awesome!

Just looked at thread about the fake interview. I've never liked April Fools, or practical jokes in general.

One's thing's for certain--I'll never believe anything OSR says ever again. You don't post April Fool's bull---- on March 31st. You also don't make it sound so serious that it seems plausible.

I swear--any site that traffics in posting news should have a "No April Fools" policy.

To be truthful and I'm not trying to insult fans of the film or anything but I honestly wonder if people overestimate the popularity of this film. Granted the Burton films obviously have their fans as is evidenced in this thread but didn't it take quite a while for the DX08 and DX09 to totally sell out? Plus the DX14 is still in stock at the moment. It seems to me that Batman was always the more popular film too. I sort of think that figures from this film will come but it's probably not really a priority like some people think it is.

I agree, '89 is more popular than Returns. Though, I'm sure a Pfeiffer Catwoman would be popular regardless.

That said, DX 09 Batman didn't take a while to sell out. It sold out relatively fast (in the U.S. anyway). Not Iron Man fast mind you (where they sell out at preorder), but still, they moved quick. It should have been enough of an incentive for atleast a Returns Batman I'd think?

Batman Returns and Back To the Future are real head scratchers to me. Why the hell did they announce these so long ago if they were just going to sit on their hands for years? Do they like the risk of potentially losing a license (like Smooth Criminal)? That and their X-Men: First Class Charles Xavier (a figure I was looking forward to) just don't make any damn sense. Hell, I don't give two ****s about Prometheus and Sleepy Hollow or the Shaw and Crane figure, but why did they bother with this?

2013 lineup? My ***. :lol

As a company, it's like they have license ADD. Personally, I wouldn't care if Batman Returns got scrapped. Even though I'm interested, that would be $$$ saved in my book (I'm perfectly content with my '89 collection). What I do care about though are these things being up in the air. If they don't have plans on releasing them, then SAY that. Don't play games and hold it over everyone's heads for years. They should NEVER announce what they have until they're positive that they'll get it out there. Months isn't bad at all, but years? It's like, why do you even bother?

Charles Xavier is the most sour experience of these kind of situations. We're teased with this really cool prototype (and the potential of maybe a Magneto), but then, nope, it gets lost in development hell.

There might be legal rights issues that are out of their hands (like Michael Jackson I guess), but let's remember, THEY'RE in control of what they show and tell us. They make those "coming soon" advertisements and show the protos above. They'd be better off not saying anything until they're positively sure that their figures will be made available for preorder months before they go up.

That's fine, except...wasn't some unknown hoaxster (not OSR) responsible for making that trick?

I thought Returns was better than the first Burton Batman film, and although I get why people love the Nolan films, I prefer my Batman to be a tad less realistic and a lot more gothic. To me Bale always seemed like a guy in armor which just happened to have a couple of bat ears attached to it. (And a mismatched blanket which he kept inexplicably calling a cape.) My one real need from the Returns line is Pfeiffer's Catwoman; I can live without a DeVito Penguin and I can even live without a Keaton Batman. But I always thought that Pfeiffer's Catwoman, like Ledger's Joker, was an iconic take on a Batman villain.

if you guys stopped supporting all there lines, we would have had BR already. All of you immediately clamor for those Iron Man 3 variant suits...its no wonder why HT has not released BR yet. Next year will no doubt be more of the same and all of you cash cows will easily hand over your money without a moments thought.

So not supporting HT current line of figures will convince them to do Batman Returns? Got it.

I ain't never bought no Iron Man figures (nor clamored for them).

Where mah Batman Returns figures at?

I've come close (especially around movie hype time like Avengers and Iron Man III). My problem though is, I only want one representation of him . . .

It's sort of difficult when there are hundreds of different versions of him to choose from. When I get to that point, I end up saying "**** it".

If I ever bought an Iron Man, it'd probably be a Mark III. I'm sure they'll make a better version one of these days, but IM1 is still my favorite of those films (and, pretty much, my second favorite of all the Marvel films, just behind Cap:TWS), so, it's probably the film I'd most want represented.
