This is a figure that would definitely benefit from rooted hair. Then it could have been thinned out, treated with product, and made to look wet. Missed opportunity with yet another long-haired male figure.

No it would not benefit from rooted hair. No matter how horrible rooted hair comes out looking people like you keep calling for it. Why? Is combing and brushing doll hair so enjoyable to you that it trumps looking good? Hot Toys already ruined way too many female figures with doll hair. Thank God they have shown more restraint when it comes to the male figures.

Treated with product? No. Just no! Being a hairdresser is not what men want to be for the most part.

The rediculous thing is the people who want another version but are going out of their way to bash this hoping it's not a success would be sealing the fate of any variants.
Wishing the figure was more screen accurate or had improved features is not the same as bashing it & hoping it will fail. And if this doesn’t sell the fault lies squarely with HT; few (if any) of us make our ordering decisions based on what someone else posts in one of these threads.

I agree that rooted hair with this one could have been amazing. Some folks have apparently somehow missed pics of HTs newest Jack Sparrow.

Putting gel in hair and running a comb through it doesn't require a degree in a skilled trade.
I'm eager to see what customizers do with this sculpt. We'll see some amazing stuff for sure.

Here a pic and a example of what hot toys could had done ... with the sculpt hair situation

This is the prime one Aquaman

That's great an all, but with a slicked back hair look, he'd have no head articulation. Wouldn't be able to look up, or turn his head with sculpted hair that long....

Relax, dude. Not everyone has the same male insecurities that you do. Some day you’ll grow up and stop caring what others think of you. Most “normal” people already think you’re a loser for playing with dolls, so get over yourself.

You are completely ok with rooted hair looking like garbage because you obviously enjoy playing with doll hair. I for one don't buy these figures to comb and style hair so I don't see why accepting a inferior rooted hair is a good trade off.

Jesus. Y'all get so argumentative over the smallest things lol. But I do respect that in a sense, that people can be so passionate about their interests. Meh, have fun. Anyway, I'm buying this dude. Its Jason Momoa, it's a hot toys figure, its totally mine. Now to wait for Aquaman 2 to see if they consider making Black Manta.

There is always a way. Take regular Harley as example. Pieces of hair could be removable.

Hot toys should offer options to choose from
*Rooted hair vs Sculpted hair
*Articulated neck vs Sculpted 1 piece neck/head

@these price point ($200-$300+) and more than 1 year reservation pre-orders, I don't think it's asking too much.

Getting the option on sculpted/rooted hair would be one thing but the ball-joint head option and the sculpted one piece head/neck would each need to use a different body.

A good example was Han Solo. They did separate hair for his radio headset.
Also they have done 2 different Luke Skywalkers with swappable hair sculpts.
Including the new one.

This would be totally viable and I would love to see more of this.

As the design stands right now I don't see this selling out early, so I'll be waiting to see if any of those hoped for changes actually take place before I decide.

It seen like nothing was announced today by hot toys may be we get lucky tomorrow since is the world premiere in USA and most of the world.

Crossing fingers .. to mera or black manta tomorrow Friday ..
