That's great an all, but with a slicked back hair look, he'd have no head articulation. Wouldn't be able to look up, or turn his head with sculpted hair that long....
Lol not like with the current incredibly long and limiting hair on the sculpt now right...

I am always surprised when people don't know hot toys will improve an figure before release. Clearly they will fix the proportions and tweak the colors before release. I confidently placed my pre-order. Only thing I am worried about is the possibility of them changing the hair thus exposing the neck joint like all the Thor figures.

Do you really believe that they will fix it .??? I haven’t seen any Thor figures before.

I did also place my order.

Hopefully you're correct, but given that the proportions and colors have been wrong since July and they've made zero changes in the 5 months leading up to the pre-order, I wouldn't say it was clear that they'll do any such thing. In the past we could rely on HT to make such updates/corrections, but lately they've been rather inconsistent.

None of that is at all guaranteed and more wishful thinking than anything. And I highly doubt they will add the tats. It will more than likely stay inaccurate. And as someone said, this body hasnt changed since July. And theyve been incredibly lazy with sculpts as of late.

Watched the movie this morning and it was fantastic! What are the chances that HT makes a deluxe version of this figure and offers a Mera and Black Manta? Slim to none?

The movie is great, saw it last weekend on an advance screening and seeing it again Sunday in IMAX 3D, which this movie screams to be seen with. Best DC movie, IMO, since the whole DCEU thing started. After looking at other statues and figures (including the freakin' Mattel 6" figure) this HT sculpt is a letdown. After seeing pics online of the Iron Spider outfit, which I think has similar pant material, popping seams already I was on the fence with this figure, a great head sculpt (e.g. Doctor Strange) would have pushed me over to buy, essentially using it has a "somewhat" poseable statue. Can't pull the trigger with the way it looks now which is really infuriating as I've been an Aquaman fan since I was a kid and this movie is so great and other than the $600 PF figure there's really no "great" Momoa sculpt out there. The Prime1 is fantastic but I'm not dropping $1k for one either.

I just saw the movie. I loved it. I Thought it was really fun. Kind of see it as the DC version of Guardians of the Galaxy. Different tone and feel to all the movies that came before it and set up a new world to see with a humorous side to it.
I would like to eventually get this version of the figure but still really like the Justice League version so I may just stick with it.

If the movie ends up being as successful as it appears it will be, no doubt there will be a sequel in 2-3 years. So if HT doesn't fix the sculpt/proportions/suit color/lack of tattoos this go around, they should have another shot at it down the road. Hopefully I'm still collecting figures in 2022. :lol

Seeing the movie tomorrow night. Looking forward to it.

Thought the movie was just okay myself. The design work was fantastic but the writing and dialogue were painfully generic and one-dimensional (with about as much depth as an episode of Superfriends), and Mamoa just doesn't seem capable of doing anything more than glowering and looking badass. Which made it hard for me to connect with or care about his character at all, unlike with Cavill and Gadot.

Still though, he did look cool as hell in the final suit, and if HT manages to improve the likeness I would definitely want to pick this up.

I’m fine with the suit for the most part. It’s the hair I can’t get over. He has WAY too much on the sculpt.
Loved the movie btw. Mera, we need a Mera HT

Total opposite for me. I felt in one film this did a much better job of actually getting me to give a **** about Aquaman than three movies did with Superman. That's not Cavill's fault; Momoa was given more room to do a lively performance, and it won me over. Definitely want a figure of this guy now.

Just got back from Aquaman movie, awesome movie, visually stunning, fun, and heart felt , badass movie, I definitely want a black manta and ocean master, and God smack hot toys if they don't have Mera next

Got to seeing this finally. I liked Momoa's Aquaman pretty much more than any DCEU character at this point, which I agree is a little surprising. The visuals were stunning and very much transported you to that world. This did what Avatar wanted to.

As a film goes, it's a little all over the place but not bad. The way I saw it, it's a late 80s film with a current day $200 million budget and that ironed out some of the weird parts.

Overall if you show some interest, it's worth a watch in IMAX, at least for the visuals.

Saw the movie again, this time in 3D, yesterday and I will double down on the disappointment/frustration with this headsculpt. Even though I love this movie so much (A DC movie...go figure!) I may end up being a chump and getting one anyway.

Or just wait for the sequel and hope for an actual Momoa likeness.

But I cannot forget we're talking about an actual Aquaman movie that is everything I wanted it to be and it's doing gangbusters at the box office and marks 2 down on the DCEU win column. So that's happiness.
