So I have a question to you all:

Would this appeal to you more if the Predator design utilized a "life-like" one similar to that of all the movie Predators that have been released so far?

And they keep the armor essentially the same in that regard.

YES.:lecture:exactly:

Yes. I still wouldn't pay $360 for it, but it's certainly a big step in a more-appealing direction (for me, at least).
Then again, that was never really the point of the piece. One could come across the same issue when comparing say, the SSC P1 diorama and the Predator on Horse statue. A movie-accurate Predator on a horse might be a better choice for some, but that only draws more attention to the fact that it's on a freakin' horse. They're better off just going for broke than combining conflicting ideas.

Most definitely, maybe tweak the armour and bio a bit, make it close faced, or even two bios and give the buyer a choice. That would secure them my money.

Pretty sure there will be "turds" hating on any release. Look at how many of us on SSF "hated" on the "Friend" figure because overall, this group doesn't care about it. Myself, I just ignore the ones I'm not interested in and don't cause any grief or bother talking shi_t on the threads of figures that I don't care. But trolls will do what trolls do.

The fact is an artist can come along and make the look totally different than what we are used to. I think its a beautiful stand alone piece in its own right and should not be compared to really any other predator figure that Hot Toys has released. If you don't like it for the style, I can understand that also. The people going crazy over it not looking like a "normal" predator, is just crazy.

that is on purpose, if you look at older Fewture Preds with cannons, they all look like wangkers. Unless someone is a huge fan of the artist or the style, I don't see this figure being a huge hit in the States for that price. For what you get, the price is just plain ridiculous. $100 more then even the Batman figures is insane imo.

though its a nice looking pred, $360.00 is waay too much. hot toys should have made another of the lost hunters, that would have been an instant purchase.

The helmets/bio masks are always the biggest points of interest to me. I like the idea of adapting the traditional design to real world concepts. It doesn't work so well here though, but that's mainly due to the rest of the design overwhelming the Pred itself (I do like that the mandibles poke out of the helmet though). The thought of seeing how a bio mask could be integrated with a Spartan helmet could be cool.

That's one of the only things I think they did right with this one..the mandible mouth piece thing.

I believe there was a Gladiator/Spartan Pred design for AvP 2010 (the game).

Here it is:

I think it could look better, but this isn't too bad.

Not as rad as I was expecting, but it's a solid attempt.

Anyway, I hope HT keeps this Artists line going, since it doesn't seem to be impacting their other Pred lines. But that price tag, oof, only for the most diehard, man.
