I hope your right I feel I've just gotten used to the new price point. I feel I received my $220 worth with my classic predator, and hope to get the same with a predator 2 remake. The $260 price tag on the Nicholson joker is tempting me to pass even though it seems like a must for any collection. The same goes for this figure, however I would not consider this one to be a must have by any stretch.

yeah
as its not from any of the movies it wont be a huge loss not to have.

Passed on Classic as the likeness was way off (most important issue for me personally) and did not feel there was 220 plus shipping worth of value in the figure. With the figures being rereleased and redone, I don't feel like we can take it as a given that these figures will always appreciate or even hold the their value, so paying scalping prices at retail is out of the question for me. 260 for Nicholson Joker and 360 for Samurai Pred? They can keep them at that price. If we don't start voting with our wallets the prices will just keep going up.

How long u think this'll be in-stock at SSC once released?

Trying to juggle some things about.

based on price i'd say a while but who knows.:dunno i ordered mine from CSC which is a couple of bucks cheaper.

Yeah, prices have gone up too high. It just depends on how much you like the figure.

I personally think the Nicholson Joker is too expensive for what it has, especially when you have releases in the same DX line like Bruce Lee and most recently, Jack Sparrow, that come with a lot more stuff than the Joker will have.

That is hard to say since the Reeves Superman was or might still be in stock for a while, at least the normal version, even though this figure was higly demanded by collectors.

And this figure has a big hate-oriented fan base.

That may also be due to the figures today being produced in greater numbers now then past releases.

I'm talking out of my ass, but I don't think the production runs have increased all that much. I figure HT is running about the same numbers as SS with their lines. The problem, if we want to call it that, and I've stated it before is that there is too much product out. This figure may have a smaller ES then a standard release due to it's niche within a niche market. Add to that the prices were are seeing.

I always get a smile on my face when people say this or that is going to be a grail in the future. Don't know if this is said to sound like they know something or just to fan the flames. Who the ____ knows!? I always buy what I like because I like it. An example is P1. I love that figure with all it's faults. It doesn't matter to me that it might be remade because that wasn't the reason I bought it.

That's how I feel, I'm pretty confident that this classic predator won't appreciate or for that matter hold it's value... But I still love it and am even thinking of buying another.

I'm in this hobby because I love it. I'm not stupid I know there are people in this hobby to try and make some money. And you know what? That's fine. More power to them. If they want to try and figure out which figure will increase in value then they can knock themselves out.
I've been reading how some at least want to break even if they decide to sell later on. Well, that's the gamble with collectibles you don't know what will happen. Just because it's been labeled a collectible doesn't mean money. If you are going to spend $200 on a figure with the hopes that it will increase in value you may be unpleasantly surprised. When I spend $200 I want it to be on something I will enjoy regardless if the value will increase. That's why I buy what I like. I went into it wanting it. If it increases in value good, if it doesn't no skin off my nose. I bought because I liked it.

I agree completely with you all. When I started this hobby, my first figure was Scar. I just wanted a good representation of it, bought it for $180. Then when my daughter was born, she was afraid of it and decided to sell it.

I was expecting to get at least $150 a year later, my surprise was, boom, $400. I was like, 'whoah'.

Now that she is older, she does not mind and now I got only the figures I like, although I am still waiting on decent 1/6 figs of the DC universe and some of Marvel.

But yeah, I have sold some figures, but just because they don't really fit in with the new level of realism of the more recent figures.

But this Pred is just something else. I really like it,the concept, the art, the difference from the others Preds. I will get it and is a must have for me.

They already have a back story for this. This clan of Predators were the ones that started the Samurai culture. That is why it is considered part of the AVP series, since in the first AVP film, they show that the Preds were the ones that taught humans how to build and all that and used them as hosts for them to hunt the Aliens.

Where did you read that info about this one?
