Not sure what ur project is - doing a 'bash of a fig after the fact I know can be time-consuming and tedious. The other thing is compromise and get something similar - haven't bought any, but have seen a lot of "female warrior" or "female/woman tactical" and a lot of third party figs where u might get something close.

It can take a lot of searching to get exactly the right part; and going back again and again. Especially looking through entire catalogs of Asian sellers. I always find xtra stuff that wasn't what I was looking for, but suddenly have to have.

Also going back repeatedly and see if u can pick up a parted out body with costume - more expensive, but IMO having an extra body, hands, etc. in storage is always useful. You could also try looking at male or female military/tactical knee pads and seeing if u can re-purpose.

Good advice, thanks Sassafras!

My plan is to just add some small shoulder protectors (like the pair in Infinity War) to my Civil War Black Widow. I think that would be a great look for my only Black Widow. You know about my one figure per character rule (still holding on)so I’m trying to create what for me would be an ultimate Black Widow.

There should be lots of tactical knee pads and other stuff u could mod for that on BlackOps toys, Monkey Depot etc. Lol I've spent hours picking through parts online. E.g. get the look without it needing to duplicate IW Widow.

Personally I'm big on weaponizing Bucky and Nat, none of this namby-pamby MCU stuff:cool:. Congrats on holding to the one fig rule; I never even tried to hold onto that rope $$$$:monkey3.

I never though of using knee pads, you think those can be moded to act as shoulder pads?

Black Widow looks really cool with that jacket and that machine gun!!
I know what you mean about weaponizing certain figures. Last year I got a 1/6 scale model of a Belgian assault rifle (SCAR MK-17) for my Avengers Nick Fury, he looks awesome with it!!

Nice pick-up on the MK-17!:clap:clap:clap

Re the shoulder pads - yeah, u COULD - but looking the IW Natasha over - the shoulder armor is thin vinyl or plastic; shaped and glued at the top, with an arm band at the bottom.

U might have an easier time just getting some thin plastic, trim, shape, and paint, add the arm band or bands. Cheaper than trying to source female tactical gear, but fiddly work. Guess that is part of what the hobby is.

Or just wait - sooner or later someone will have parts or a IW Widow on sale.$$$$

Yes it may turn out that patience may be my best asset in this one.

However I was looking on Blackops and saw several knee pads like the one below. I was thinking I could keep one strap on (remove the other! and then use a small bit of a stick pad to adhere the top part to the shoulder. Maybe that would replicate the look of IW Black Widow enough, I?m not sure.

The idea of molding a piece myself is attractive also but I have never done anything like that. As you know my moding abilities are at a very remedial level.

Here is the type of thing I?m talking about:

Sorry for the sideways photos.

I think this CW Black Widow is fantastic but I think she would look even better with some shoulder protectors of some sort. Me btw I realize that one of her holsters is missing. It popped off when I was putting her back in her box I think. Luckily I still have it, I hope it will be easy to put back on.

U could test the look with some thin plastic. It might bulk her shoulders too much for this fig - CW Natasha is beautiful, nice pics!:clap

Haven't had a holster pop off yet - but other stuff here and there - HT uses some cheap glue.

Good point, I do not want to bulk up her shoulders too much, I think that could ruin her whole “look”.

So where do you get thin plastics to use with your mods? Does it com in sheets? How do you mould it?

Sorry if those are dumb questions Sassafras ...but remember who you are dealing with here :)

Thanks for notifying the community roninjai
Of course I suppose they’re may be people looking for that sort of thing ...I’m not
Just wanted to follow up on this, because you gotta be kidding me.

The BW head I ordered from this seller on September 25 of last year, which I fought with the seller AND ebay about getting a refund and never did...showed up two days ago. Thus brings an end to the saga.

Wow!!
That took an incredibly long time, unreal!
I hope that it looks good at least.

You really can't close out that saga and not post a picture of the sculpt. Is it "waited a year" quality? I'm guessing not :)

As requested. :)

The face is a decent likeness of ScarJo I think, maybe better than the original HS for this figure, and the paint app is okay.

On the con side, the hairline is really abrupt I think, and as you can see in that side view the hair is pulling out from the braid.

(S/N, I think it's sitting too low on the neck right now, but I haven't futzed with it at all.)

Thanks for sharing! Incredible that you finally got it. Agree with your assessment, particularly the abruptness of the hairline. Might be able to pull a few strands out to lessen that a bit. I think maybe the hair color is a little too orange but it's still a super fun look. Congrats on getting it!

I really struggle with this figure. It’s the covid hair that bugs me the most. Maybe this looks better. I am going to continue to work on it.

I just got this figure today. No struggle here. Just barely had a few moments to futz but I’m looking forward to exploring the ‘do possibilities for real (a touch of product, perhaps—maybe a snip or two with the shears? Plenty of generalized and specific fiddlin’).

I really love this Nat! SO, SO much better than the promo pics, and also truly way, way better in hand vs looking at online photo/video. First-hour-in-the-house snaps reveal a “napping in the back seat of the Quinjet” look. Will get fun and fancy in future days.
