In fact, I consider all of Marvel's films thus far to be well thought-out in motivated design.
I realize Nolan's method is credited as the pinnacle of this approach, but Marvel's done well so far in my book.
(But I'm admittedly biased towards Marvel, so . . . )

They have the appearance of utilitarianism but in reality are design over function.
I love the Iron Man designs so much as they start with function and then style that functional design. The Nolan Batman design is style first that's then made functional.
