so AVPR isn't a classic like AVP The Wolf was more of a badass then all of the AVP preds put together Chopper dies fast / celtic dies fast and the Scar was decent but the WOLF kicked serious ass the whole movie // yeah i said it so i'm now waiting for the attacking to begin

The AvP trio was FAR more badass than Wolf.

I didn't see Wolf jumping over 20 feet in the hair, flipping around and thrusting a Combi-stick into a Queen Alien's head.. Or picking up an Alien by it's leg, spinning it around causing it's head to crash through several wall-edges, tossing it to the ground, then roaring in slo-mo like a complete BADASS.
I could go on... But, I will!

My 3 favorite scenes in AvP:

1. When either Connors, Bass, or Klaus (can't remember which, but I think it's either Klaus or Bass) is aiming his weapon at various Predator statues, passes by one then realizes it wasn't a statue.. Right when he aims back at it, BOOM! BAM! CRASH! Combi-stick through the chest/stomach.

2. Pyramid begins shifting for the first time and Scar leaps from ledge to ledge in slo-mo cloaking during the leap. BADASS.

3. When Quinn sees Celtic stealthed on top of the building, shoots his armor, pisses him off... "RRROOOOAAAAARRR!!!!".

AvP destorys AvP:R.

you have alotta good points but the Wolf was a one Pred army , all alone and was a bad ass alone without other preds around //imo thats all / i like you 2

Never got the hate for the AVP Preds. They looked cool to me. A bit more sentimental than we're used to, but their designs look way cooler than Wolf's IMO. Mostly because there was a creative reason for giving them the fully-armored suits and equipment.
With Wolf, they just tried using shallow ideas to make him appear more badass: "Ooh! Let's give him TWO SHOULDER CANNONS! Let's cover his face in spikes and tusks! Then let's send just him to take care of an entire alien infestation and make cool references to the first movie even though they completely compromise the point of the Pred's mission! Lastly, let's give him double wrist blades in the video game! More is better! Yay..."

In any case, why are we still going on about other movies here? AVP needs love and it needs it right here. Your AVP-R love is perfectly welcome in the appropriate thread .

For the first few years after AvP had come out I couldn't stand it..
Now that I'm older I love it.. I don't even remember why I hated it so much.

I do still hate the Human/Predator, pyramid/civilization building backstory though.
I'm not going to believe that Predators had that close of a relationship with that many of us at one time.. It's better to keep them more secret...
Or if they DID play a HUGE role with us back then, keep it more subtle, ya know?

Now i'm drooling for a HT AvP figure, damnit.

The wolf took off his armor cos he realized the predalien would just evade or shrug off the attacks.

He needed to get a killing blow to end it and the only way was to get the predalien to go toe to toe.

Scar took off his mask prematurely and got face hugged.

Celtic took too darn long to kill an alien stuck in a net and chopper didn't even have the awareness to know there was an alien behind him.

All flaws of unblooded preds.


The way wolf lured the Allenstein out in the sewer was pure class.

Love you all guys but wolf FTW!

I don't think he's talking about the movie AVP being a classic. He's talking about the figures as they were the first Pred figs Hot Toys made. Thes AVP Preds were portrayed as young preds compared to a scarred old veteran like Wolf. But we're here to appreciate the figures. AVP and AVPR are nowhere near classic status like Predator.

In somewhat of a defense for Scar, he was blooding himself. But to get face_____ked like that was pretty careless. But Wolf being the baddass he was supposed to be really didn't get too many good killing scenes (except for the sewer fight scene which was off the hook!) I really think Wolf could have been done better. When he picked up the Xenos with his 2 hands and aimed at them preparing to use the 2 cannons to blow their heads off, I was so blown away by that, but it was completely ruined for me when Chet came along and smacked him across the room. Dayam that was a big disappointment. I say blame it on the Directors.

I'm sure many will disagree with this, but just my two cents

Definitely agree with all of this. Especially with your last statement.

For once, I'd like to see a script where the Predator(s) don't ____ing die at the end of the movie.

Ha, thats why I hated it.. It felt like a copy of AvP: Prey, my favorite AvP story. That and the Predators being killed so fast.. I used to always prefer the Predator over the Alien back then, but what Elementary school-aged kid wouldn't?
