Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming
The announcement is good enough for me...now you know it's coming for sure. Just enjoy the ride!

Maul and I have the same train of thought. I'm thinking most of the R&D is done with a figure like 89 Bats. The trickiest part is going to be finding a decent cape material but I think HT will be able to top any custom out there in that area and more.
That head is going to take some unique engineering skills which ever way they pursue it.
Personally, I'd prefer an articulated neck, similar to the Takara. I know in the film he has limited to no neck movement but it would be nice so that the bottom portion of the cowl (with the scallops) is soft to move along with the cape while the actual headsculpt is the hard plastic they use for their portraits.
If the head is one piece, ala TDK OC Batman, the scallops would have to be too. So then you'd have limited cape movement as the cowl would hinder it.
I'm thinking the head'll be like the customs and the OC figure, just one solid piece with no articulation. Keaton had no range of movement and HT seems to focus on giving articulation used in the movies, they didn't add posability that wasn't there on the OC.
Yeah and I'm all for that, but then how do you create this if the head is all one piece and the cape is tucked under the cowl?
Design wise, everything is fine until you get to the cape and head.
....he looks incredibly dorky in that pic imo...
