Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

They won't at least not at first. If Hot Toys history is any indication we won't get their "ultimate" until we hit DX statuses. :lol

And I'll be happily purchasing each and every 'mistake' along the way...:yess:

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I would not be surprised if they did

No DX logo, no DX. It was just MMS. Plus I don't think they'll DX another Batman and Joker.

Lol although I'm under the impression these are going to be DXs (Keaton and Jack) straightaway. Much like we all expect the Reeve Superman to be DX right away.
for me, a sturdy typical Keaton glare is enough :)

Too bad i can only post maximum 10 pictures, if you wanna see a whole lot of other high quality pictures related to the '89 movie (and about all other bat movies) here is a real big library, they got everything: stills, production shots, behind the screen pics, you name it!

Also there is this "Jon" that made a custom batman, cant keep them together. What I like is the spear gun....still i can't wait for Hot Toys

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Oh yeah - i'd take a straight stare anytime - the only reason i'd want it to be DX is the extra accessories and nicer base that DX's typically come with.

That said though, some of the recent regular MMS releases have had a ____ load of accessories. If that's the case with this, it would be A ok with me

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I aint so much for beggin, but o boy, I would beg HT to make this combo!

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I caught this movie over this past weekend, brought back some nice memories and my wife actually wants the Keaton Batman and Nicholson Joker as those are the ones she prefers. One thing came to mind, the goons. If you had just one Goon dressed in their Joker jacket and apparel you could theoretically kitbash a ton of them....although would someone pay around $130 for Bob the Goon? I say Bob because he was the most notable....

Other than the number of Joker card arm patches this is true. They held different ranks according to the amount of them. Bob had the most at 5. Of course only a nut like me would notice.:D

I can't remember if this was answered a year back or so... I don't keep track of them. When I always taped this back in the VHS days... why was this always edited out...

I remember for so long seeing the regular version I just assumed that was it. However it always confused me one second he had his fists up then the next part he's standing with his arms below the cape. I never really questioned it but I did think it was extremely odd back then. I never knew from the mid 90's I only ever saw the filtered version for so long it appeared normal to me. It wasn't until one time they aired the full thing on TV for some reason. Then continued to do so even in the late 90's.

Hmm, that's odd. Maybe you saw an variation of the film with alternate takes?

That reminds me of the deleted scenes for the film,

Blame the BBFC. They do strange cuts

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

the last few pages cement why burtons batman will a;lways be my favorite. they really nailed the suit down, its so awsome. the bale suit has nothing on this. classic.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Man, i think i had everyone of those trading cards. They were always sat in a huge pile on my shelf as a kid. I was always a little confused by the ones that had scenes that werent in the movie. At that time, and at that age, i had never heard of "deleted scenes". Haha.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

The biggest difference between the two Burton Batman movies is said pretty succinctly in the "making of" commentaries. "Batman" was a Batman movie directed by Tim Burton, where he was reigned in by the studios mythology wise, but to get him back, Returns was a Burton film where he was allowed to do whatever he wanted with the bat characters in it, no adhering to mythology.

Laugh- And didn't that bite the studios in the ass?

Returns IS Darker just because at the start of the movie Penguin is already a child murderer then he wants to later slaughter all of Gothams first born. It's certainly more adult just through it's dialogue and innuendo. And yeah, then it gets kind of silly with Penguins goons kidnapping all the kids in a duck train (laugh). Nothings perfect man!

Batman Returns just has this whole vibe that pulls me into that Gotham world and grips me. There is just a whole romance to the way Burton created that world. (And I like the Batman costume better than the one than from '89.).

Returns is definitely a movie where I think people either love it or hate it.

:goodpost: Here's a man that "gets" it. :)

A lot of people that don't like the movie think that Penguin is too gruesome and not in keeping with the comic book character. And he isn't. But he's 100% Burton, as is the movie.

As a huge Burton fan, and a lover of Batman, that's a winning combination. :rock

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

If memory serves that little girl in the garbage filled alley was supposed to be Robin in the sequel. It's a shame that for the 20th anniversary special edition they couldn't include some filmed deleted scenes.
