The figures in the cases are either poorly photoshopped into the image or are 1/4 scale. They are nearly knee high on the 1/1 statues.

As for seeing it coming...they did the same thing for Aou and A1 and Star Wars and announced this last year along with at least three other shows (like BvS 1000%..which was last year marvel 1000%)
