Since the BVS Superman figure is out now in China, should this Batman figure be out next month?:dunno

Well, SSC has it slated for a July-September shipping estimation from them, so if that holds true, I'm guessing he'll either be released next month or July in HK.

Is it too late to post a top 5 list?

1. Man of Steel
2. Batman v Superman
3. Batman (1989)
4. The Dark Knight
5. Superman II (Donner cut)

Wow- MOS first? That is great- I love it, too. Hard to come up with a top list for me- the films are so different...

Ah, I notice that many people seem to really like the Donner cut of Superman II. I'm certain I'm in the minority by actually preferring the theatrical version; the Donner cut just didn't appeal to me. While funny, I wasn't too fond for instance of the segment where Lois figured out that he was Superman by firing the blank at him. I also didn't like how he destroyed the Fortress of Solitude at the end and the whole scene with Jor-El when he went back to retreive his powers at the Fortress. I personally preferred the theatrical version where he simply found the illuminating green crystal after it seemed like his pleas were going to go left unanswered, and the ambiguity in it in the sense that it was essentially left up to the viewer to fill in the blanks. I found that a bit fun.

My top list then...

Superman the movie
The Dark Knight Rises (I know I'm among the minority there)
Batman Begins
Man Of Steel
Superman II, Donner's cut

But TDK and BVS would fit just behind, followed by Batman Returns and Batman 89.

What I like about the Donner cut is, that it's less silly. He had a fight with the producers, they wanted silly, he wanted more serious. He made his cut, they fired him and got (I think it was the director from Superman III) to re-shoot and made the silly version. To me, silly doesn't work. I remember a friend told me about the Donner cut and I was blown away when I saw it. Really sad he didn't get to make all three. Anyhow, to each his own :)

Here's hoping some images show soon from the far east...the ones of Superman are great...

Now...to join the fun, a list!

  • The Dark Knight
  • BvS
  • MoS
  • Superman (Reeve)
  • Batman Begins
  • Batman '89

Now that he's convinced me with his work in BvS that he has a great take on the character, I'm looking forward to where Affleck goes with it from here...not release that figure, dang it!

Personally, I thought the Donner cut was more silly than the theatrical version. That's just my opinion though, to each his own indeed. :)

I don't recall off hand, but does the Donner cut also include him throwing that tear away cellophane "S" at Non in the FoS? If so, then they're both equally as silly. :lol

I was watching it a while back and my wife points out why he threw that S from his chest. I did not explain and turn the channel. :thud:

That's because the only explanation for that scene if someone asks about it is:

Seeing the released supes, they need to give bats those same big defined shoulders. Heck they should use that body minus the big thighs.

I was on the fence about this one, until I ran across this picture ...

Whatever thickness problems the original version had appear to have been fixed.

Went ahead and preordered from Alter Ego. Never used them before, but BBTS was sold out. I'll probably get at least the Knightmare Batman alongside it. Undecided on the armored Batman. Probably not on Superman. Almost assuredly not on Wonder Woman. Can't think of anything else they'd make. Lex? Nah. Would be nice to get a Bruce Wayne headsculpt on one of these figures, though. Maybe Knightmare.

I think everyone will be happy with the figure once he finally arrives. That seems to be the case with Superman so I'm hoping for the same here.

I just wish his shoulders were a biiiiit bigger, and that his neck was a biiiit shorter.

To be fair, had this film been a little less divisive, and Lex been a little less awful, we almost certainly would have seen figures of two or three more characters.
