Cicada must've passed out with excitement. An hour later and no pictures beyond a box top peek. Wake up, Cicada! WAKE! UP!

:lol:lol:lol

Nice photos, Cicada! Was it everything you had hoped for? It's cool to see the gray of his suit pop from the black.

Yeah. It's a temporary home for Bats. I have Man Of Steel Supes, but he's on a shelf with General Zod. I might go nuts and have Batman right between them.

Same here. Even though the DCEU movies have had their issues (and MOS is the only one so far that I think truly works), I still find myself a lot more intrigued by that universe with it's edgier feel and more unpredictable choices than the painfully formulaic MCU, with it's stories and characters that feel engineered to be as safe and audience-friendly as possible.

Even recent movies I kinda enjoyed, like Ant-Man and Doctor Strange, still had some of that bland and formulaic feel to them.

:exactly:

Although I personally enjoyed BvS (UE) the most out of the DCEU films thus far.

Went over him and gave him a da rk grey over the light I had him with. Doubt anyone cares but for the sake for the batman here he is. 20170215_213024.jpg20170215_213046.jpg

I personally like many of the MCU films that people are maligning here, particularly AoU. Both Thor films were a bit boring though in my opinion, TDW more so. However, I do admit I am getting a bit bored with the MCU a bit as a whole after CW.

As far as what I personally look for in superhero films and what appeals to me, I'm more interested in the DCEU. Though there's nothing "realistic" about the characters in their physical abilities, I feel their universe is more grounded in reality as far as tackling real world issues and consequences, and integrating these characters into it and delving into their psyches.

Don't get me wrong - I really enjoy most of the MCU output, but they really are beginning to grate on me... and this is due to repetition. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a good comedy action film, GoTG was great - my problem is that Marvel/Disney now think that EVERY comic book movie should follow this formula... and they absolutely shouldn't!!! There should be differing tones to each character's movies... I think in this respect, Dr. Strange was the biggest MCU disappointment for me - it was a great opportunity to do a really good, serious movie - instead we get forced comedy, terrible accents, white-washed casting and a cringingly bad cape! How that got nominated for visual effects over BvS is laughable too!
Every character should be treated differently – Batman absolutely should be dark, serious and violent, but I would expect Shazam to be lighter and family friendly... if Plastic Man got a film, you'd expect comedy etc. etc., whereas Marvel are just making every character now a comedy – you can't blame them after finding a winning formula, but do that every single film and people will soon get bored – one of the reasons I love the Alien series is because every film is different.

The DCEU hasn't been perfect – I love MoS and the BvS UE is superb too, but SS was a let-down - the extended version is a lot better movie - however SS got the characterisations of all it's members absolutely spot on... something I think the DCEU as a whole has done.

There are some MCU movies I can re-watch but not a lot. GotG was one of them. I love that movie. My favorite MCU movie is still Winter Soldier.

Me too –*but funny thing is, if you think about it – GoTG is not truly a superhero movie, it's a space/sci-fi ensemble movie. It has more of a feel of Star Wars... or more accurately, Firefly, than a superhero movie.
That said, I found baby Groot amusing at the end of the movie, but him staying that way - and going off the trailers - looks awful... it's the 'cutesy' Disney influence being taken too far for me!

I didn't think Civil War was overly light or humorful at all. Sure some jokes and good lines but that and winter soldier are somewhat heavy movies emotionally.

I certainly wouldn't say any MCU movie is emotionally heavy to be honest – Steve being sad for his best friend is wearing thin for me... people savage Cavill's Superman for being miserable, but really he's had his moments of joy yet Captain America has been in - what 5/6 films so far - has he smiled once?
Also think the whole premise of CW - to get the heroes to fight was flimsy - yes I can understand totally Cap and IM going for it, but I just don't think there were justifiable reasons for everyone to go toe-to-toe in the way they did.

Great job, that looks way more screen accurate now. Surprised HT got the colour wrong in the first place.

Not sure I've got the nerve to repaint mine, scared to death i'll make a mess of it lol.

Same here – for the money these figures cost, I don't have the bottle to do anything to them... however I do like the look of the Unreal Toys cape replacement... just wish they'd do a properly 'scalloped' version.

The cape is a simple mod, I think even with I'd struggle to screw that up. :lol
I'd like him to be the correct colour but not willing to risk damage when I don't really know what I'm doing. It's still easily my fave figure right now.

Again this is all perspective and opinion but I appreciate the debate as it takes my mind off politics and news.

The civil war premise of registration was a good nod to the comic. I thought.

Tony's parents being murdered and him watching the tape and then trying to kill Bucky out of revenge was pretty real for me. Raw and real.

Yes Cap is a sap.

And for the record I'm a fan of the DCEU - really liked MoS and really liked BVS UE - I like my super man to be human and conflicted. I like my batman to be a brood and headstrong at times.

I do wish the doomsday thing wasn't forced in but they way the handled with nod to the comics I enjoyed.

I wouldn't say that exactly. Particularly when two of the Trinity are sooooo off model. Batman's a (major) killer, so is Supes. Supes is depressed, deep in thought and almost mopey. We'll see how they portray WW.

Also think the whole premise of CW - to get the heroes to fight was flimsy.

Agreed. But the BvS premise was absurd. Jolly Rancher Lex pulling the strings to get the two to fight to the death :ohbfrank:

Hey Guys, really dumb question here.... This is my 1st brand new HT from retailer. How the heck do I take the plastic stuff from around his ankle/knee area off? I'm kinda scared taking the boots off, is that how to do it? Only other thing I'm experiencing a slight annoyance with is his wrists seem to pop off pretty easily. is that normal or...?

You can just take the boots off. It's attached on a ball joint.

You might have to reattach the wrists.

Study how the mechanism works and go from there. Not hard and no need to worry.

The feet are removable, just ball joints, and the boots are removable as well. If you are talking about the plastic that his lower legs/boots come wrapped in, you can just carefully peel the tape or carefully cut it off. Some HTs will have wrist pegs issue, but that's from the outfit/guantlet making it hard to get a snug fit.

Yes! There are certain points in time in a man's life that are so significant, they will forever remain in his heart. Wedding day, birth of a child... and this.
