Batman is not a 'Major' killer – he does kill, not denying it - but not to the extent has been highlighted... it is, as POTUS would say, 'Fake News'.
I remember the video that came out, with a BvS body count for Batman – if you actually watch the video, over half of the count are not actually 'real'... the first count for example sites the car Batman smashes into the portakabin... watch the movie again - the car is empty!
And sure – Superman kills Zod, but he was left with little choice and it absolutely destroyed him to do it.... but nearly every Avenger has killed in the 'child-friendly' MCU movies – why are they exempt from criticism... in the first 5 minutes of AoU the body count is shocking!
As for measuring up 'for most folks' – Marvel/Disney have hit a formula that works, it has become increasingly a Disney film with real actors for me personally, and I think the fact the movies are aimed at kids and teens helps their popularity – nothing wrong with that, but I do feel that the increasing similarity in the movies will be ultimately detrimental to the franchise.
As for DCEU's best being on par with Marvel's run-of-the-mill... now you're just trolling! If i'm honest, MoS is my all-time favourite Superhero movie – Superman is treated seriously, his powers are treated seriously – the damage caused is a reflection of what would happen if beings that powerful fought in a built-up City – I appreciated that. Marvel's run-of-the-mill movies don't exist for me – they are either good, or mediocre –*take both Thor movies, Ant-Man, AoU, the first Hulk movie and Dr. Strange... they're terrible movies that I would skip past on TV... yet MoS, BvS and movies like Watchmen, the Hellboy films and the last Dredd movie to me are all vastly superior –*for me, it's because those movies treat the characters with respect and stick close to their comic book roots –*something Marvel sacrificed.
