I fully agree with this. You can get a better looking NECA or MAfex figure at a fraction of the HT price at the moment. However, I am confident that HT will improve this quality drastically. If they don't then this will be a major miss on their part.

I agree that the price of Hot Toys is stupid right now - considering the quality and content of DAM figures these days... I suppose they have to up the price due to licensing of the movie. I will be buying Batman, but it's getting harder to afford these figures and even harder justifying the outlay on them.

TBH I don't have a problem with the price point, at all. It helps keep my collection sustainable and to be able to sincerely answer the question "do I really need this?". However, for the price I really hope the quality is there, and unfortunately at this time I just don't see it with this Batman. I really want to order it, but everytime I see the photos I clear my cart, just can't pull the trigger until I see some final/fixed photos.

While I undertand eveyone's concerns, it feels like some of you expect way too much out of a mass produced 12 inch tall action figure that is trying to replicate a full scaled person in a full scale outfit...regardless of the price.

If they get this one as close as the Superman figure is to the movie I think everyone will be happy. Right now, the the torso and arms are way off. In the movie Batman's suit fits like a glove and he's built like a tank, pretty much the same as Superman. So if Hot Toys can get pretty close to Superman's look, they should be able to do the same with Batman. I realize some of the cut definition in the shoulders and wrinkles might not happen but the should be able to get close.

Hot Toys have raised their own bar too high. That along with other companies doing just as good a job and sometimes better has done that lol.

Now especially with the price getting higher and us knowing they can do better gives us the thirst!

I got one an getting most of this line cause I never buy any figures expect for my most wanted. I only have the DX12. It makes collecting simpler


That being said I'm getting all these BvS, ironman Mrk 45 and Antman. Severely broke this year!

HT can price whatever they want because they know they're the only ones making 1/6th Marvel and DC movie figures. Other companies make comic versions or different scales but not what HT is doing.

I'm hoping for good neck articulation because for whatever reason a pose like this on my shelf is something I really want...

My only gripe with the HT sculpt is how fat the neck came out, but that's also... kinda.. part of the design in a lot of the promo pics, but in motion it doesn't look as fat
I wouldn't mind some "inaccuracy" for the sake of a better looking figure

Yes. All the muscles are getting lost in the suit at the moment, whereas the real thing enhances them.

Like people are saying we need to be able to see the shape of the muscles like we can on the Supes figures.

Yeah, apparently the new Alfred sucks at ironing. Anyway... it was some designers way of trying to make the costume look more textured I guess. Honestly, if Hot Toys can just get the bulk of the muscles right and have the suit be as form fitting and tight as the MOS costume I would be fine with it not having so many wrinkles.

Uuhm! I could quote other threads.... Han Solo, Indy.... Improvements sometimes don't happen (Indy) or can make things much worse (stuntman Han).

That looks fantastic! If the HT body looks anything like that ill be over the moon. Weird to say but I think the cowl is more accurate here, but I like the HotToys version better?


Is that a mixed material statue? Fabric suit?

That's fully sculpted at 1/2 scale. I actually think the portrait for the hot toys fig looks much more like affleck.

I agree. The HT Affleck sculpt does look quite a bit better then that 1/2 statue. There's also a Superman statue as well, and the likeness to Cavill is pretty spot on.

No, from what I understand, this is mixed media just like Superman.
And as much as I'm blown away at HT's cowl...this 1/2 scale is pretty much as close to perfection.

Maybe it's the angle but the right eye appears to be drooping.
