Thanks, SilverStar! I've enjoyed the back-and-forth from many of the board members, yourself included.
I saw the UE first, but went back and watched the theatrical release after. I noticed the added footage, but I didn't think that the film was poor or drastically different without the additional material. More than anything, I'm dismayed at critical response (including an awful lot of fans). I thought it was fantastic, warts and all, and I'm very excited for the JL film. Affleck, in my opinion, is the definitive Bruce Wayne/Batman (and I enjoyed Bale's portrayal very much, as well as Keaton's). Even though I'm a card-carrying Chris Reeve Superman fan, I certainly agree that Cavill's version has much more depth. I just wish his Clark Kent was a bit more....I dunno, bumbling?
I'm a bit of a fish out of water over here in the DC section, but I love modifying and photographing my figures. I really feel like I need to disrobe my BvS Superman figure to shave down the latissimus dorsi muscles so that he can put his arms a BIT more at his side (it's a fairly standard mod I make to most of my figures - especially the Sideshow ones). I'm also really excited to brush some lacquer onto his hair - that simple mod seems to really bring out the already-stellar sculpt.
The sad thing about the BvS figure is that I've virtually fallen out of love with the MoS version, but it's still a wonderful figure. I'd like to replace the cape (thanks for the message, jam2315), but I don't think that much can be improved over the BvS figure, though I've seen some wonderful MoS figures here. The physique of the MoS figure is more pleasing to the eye, but overall less accurate to the character in the film.
The only downside to the BvS figure is his limited articulation. I miss MoS's double-jointed elbows and overall poseability, but there's just something so regal about the BvS figure's stance and build, even just in a museum pose. And my biggest gripe with the MoS has been addressed (in spades) with the redesigned ankles and boots (skinnier and MUCH more articulated.
Anyways, thanks again for the reply. It's been awhile since I've been this pleased with a totally-stock figure!
