Gosh I hope he comes with multiple head sculpts
A sculpt like this one and even one modeled after TAS Venom would both be top tier for me.

The problem with all these recent "modern" Venom designs is his head is way too round. Venom back in the day always had a narrow, elongated head with a long jaw. The HT prototype has that same round 90's Mario movie Goomba head.

I can imagine they wanted to save money by reusing bits of the old sculpt, but there's no need for cutting corners here. A Bagley or McFarlane Venom would sell phenomenally well.

I know, to me it's an absolutely lazy approach. McFarlane or Bagley inspired would have been amazing, even if they ever did one based on the Marvel vs Capcom model. Let's see if HONO takes a stab at it down the line. I'd prefer a solid articulated body over a rubber suit though.

Wish for more heads also. It's allerady a re-used body, why not include more heads?

Makes no sense not to do so. It will be there only comic Joker I gather for like 10 years...

Same. And I'm expecting he'll have an alternate head. I can't imagine he won't. Knock on wood.

Venom really needs multiple expressions. A closed mouth Venom really only existed for one arc, and after that I always visualize him with the open mouth and tongue. I really need to see more of this one, however I remain currently excited. Don't let me down, Hot Toys.

This figure looks better and better the more I look at it. I just wished it was a little closer to the Ryan Stegman design from King In Black

I would absolutely love it if they made a Eddie Brock sculpt in his same design too

Oh my, a Bagley Venom would make me weep with joy.
The big issue for me is the suit texture. If it was just the feet or just the bulk I'd bite.

King in Black is so good. Really put Venom back on the map. And I agree, it's a great modern version of the character.

...I'd pay extra for wings.

If they included the wings I would lose my mind. I kinda have a feeling they’ll make and exclusive and include the Necrosword

For me Venom is so over used and has changed so much due to his popularity that's he's not even Venom anymore. The whole symbiote thing has gotten ridiculous and so out of hand. So many dumb story lines, symbiotes all over the place bonding with like everyone. It's nothing special or unique anymore. "Wth everyone super, no one will be." And creating Knull as an elder of the Universe who created the symbiotes (and the necro sword), making him so powerful, wings, everyone has symbols on them making it as if Venom's bond to Spidey had no impact as to why he also has a Spider on his chest.... Whatever. I don't even understand most of it nor do I want to. I just think it's all dumb. :rotfl

I just want the original Venom. Eddie Brock with his twisted relationship to Spidey and being an anti-hero every now and then. And Carnage being the crazy mass murderer. The symbiotes should've remained mysterious. That's it. Bring back the early to mid 90's please... :(

It was the early to mid-90s that did all of that, and arguably harder. You couldn’t open a book without a new symbiote popping up.

Pretty sure I even had comics and merch for most, from Scream to Hybrid to Toxin.

Peter and Eddie basically buried their feud by Maximum Carnage for the most part as well.

Even Peter once questioned early on why the suit looked the way it did, and chalked it up to secretly thinking Julia Carpenter had a cool black outfit with a white spider on it.

Venom has constantly changed since his first inception. Frankly, I enjoy that. I don’t want characters to stay static. I like to see them grow and evolve and surprise us. Spider-Man’a current editor recently said he thinks growth and development aren’t the right direction for comics, and I couldn’t disagree more strongly.

Agreed, talk about milking the cow until you get nothing but milk powder. Part of the reason I don't read comics anymore, too much overuse of stories that are over bloated when it could be sharp and simple. I've heard of Knull but don't know anything about him or looked it up.

Anyways - I like Venom from the point around when he became a character, so I'm in on this comic version (unless he comes out to be 15" tall)...and afterward, I will no need no other.

Yea I see now that venom is more anti hero than villian but when he was a villian he was absolutely amazing and people nowadays don’t understand that anymore. They just see big scary monster and the symbiote is something that can latch on to anybody and make them venom. A huge reason why I despise ultimate Spider-Man and the Spider-Man 2 game. They got venom so wrong .
