Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

At least with the covered up elbow joints HT will be able to give this Ahsoka some lightup sabers. And I'll be able to buy an extra set for the TCW figure too.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

He is going to use it to increase Beskar the armour pieces. So basically there will be another figure with more Beskar coming out next year.

Bruh. No he isnt. That spear will be the one thing that allows him to survive the upcoming Darksaber fight, and you KNOW its coming. He did not get that spear for no reason. We'll see it again, and soon. Since we only got 2? more ep. to go this season :(

Especially since the Armorer is gone now. Who would smelt it for him? Oh no. He'll be keeping that spear.

Exactly. Season 2 Din Djarin with Beskar staff. That’s guaranteed.

I don’t know why but I’m so sure he’ll have color on his armor by the end of his season. I just don’t see plain his plain chrome beskar lasting much longer.

It should have been painted long ago, in the name of avoiding attention. It just attracts way too much unwanted attention. Altho I keep seeing people say "Beskar cannot be painted." News to me.

Ah, but this is where Sabine will come in and we'll have a multicolour Mando.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Ahsoka was essentially perfect in the show, in my opinion, aside from the "lekku" tendril issue. As someone who is not a die hard fan of the animated series, even I noticed right away that her horns and tendrils were very short. It was a distraction to me, as it seemed to cause a contradiction visually, with Ahsoka being played very well by Rosario as a mature, stoic warrior, yet her head piece seems to make her look as if she's supposed to be young and cute.

I understand the headpiece would probably have been very cumbersome during fight scenes, but it does cause a noticeable issue with that character's visual look. It probably came down to time and money. Generally the practical makeups and effects in the series have been pretty dodgy in my opinion, but I seem to be in the minority wth this opinion. The Twi'leks in season one have tendrils that look very weird and super rubbery as well.

Yeah cause I?d imagine Mandos especially like Bo Katan isn?t rocking a non beskar suit being 3 generations old and hers is painted

This is such a fantastic statue. Would really like to see HT release figures of Shaak-Ti, Oola, Ayala Secura and Darth Talon. Even though SS figures couldn’t measure up to HT for the most part, at least they produced a broad and prolific line-up that included main characters, secondary characters, video game characters, EU characters, aliens, troopers, droids, creatures, and environments. If Sideshow had focused on secondary Star Wars characters and those other categories instead of trying to go head to head with HT on the lead characters, they would probably still have the 1:6 license and been much more successful. They could have switched over their bodies to the system used by HT and other 1:6 producers and hired a few of the top 1:6 sculptors. In many respects I think Sideshow brought more fanboy enthusiasm and excitement to their Star Wars line, which is why they seemed to take on everything. Imagine the figures SS could have produced in the last 5-6 years had they kept at it with their original character approach and passion—Rancor & Keeper, Wampa, Oola (seamless body), Admiral Ackbar, Niem Nunb, Queen Amidala (2-3 gowns), Podracer Anakin, Aurra Sing, Droideka, JarJar/Gungans, Saesee Tiin, Coleman Trebor, Yaddle, Senate Guard, Ayala Secura (seamless), Kaminoans, Neomoidians, Geonosians, Acklay, Nexu, Admiral Raddus, Saw Gerrera, updated Ventress, Talzin, Savage Opress, Starkiller, Mara Jade, Satele Shan, Darth Talon (seamless), Darth Revan, Darth Malak, Starkiller, etc. Most, if not all, of those characters will never be produced by Hot Toys. That’s one of the problems with exclusive licenses. Either someone else needs to get a slice of the license or an unlicensed company needs to jump in.

You're dreaming with that list anyway. Half of those characters are Legends and wouldn't get made regardless of who has the license.

Apparently the lekku were made shorter for stunt and practicality reasons. Makes sense really.

Until you remember that Disney have virtually unlimited funds AND ILM under their wing, who could probably easily just repalace them with CGI during scenes that require a lot of acrobatics etc. Just have a prosphetic for more static scenes but then digitally enhance it during fights.

The Child is a mix of puppetry and CGI, so not sure why they couldn't do the same for Ahsoka's Lekku and Montrals.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Facewise and acting, I have no problem. But Disney failed in costume and effects in Ashoka. Length of the appandages could have been like the one on the right.

PS. Forgive some painting inaccuracies. This is the best I can do.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Eh, rewatching the episode I think the shorter length still works perfectly fine. And it makes her look a bit more attractive that way too.

Personally I think longer lekku look better aesthetically and are more attactive, but I don't really see why she has to be attractive anyway :dunno.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

No it's not necessary... but it never hurts either. :D Although I mostly just mean attractive from a design standpoint, and because of how it does make her look a bit younger.

But again, it probably helps that I'm not a diehard Clone Wars fan like all you guys, so could really not care less either way.

And ultimately if the change was fine with Filoni then it's fine with me.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Ahsokagate is now in full swing...

Breaking news: Ahsoka Tano's co-creator, Dave Filoni, has gone public to complain that the director of the latest episode of The Mandalorian altered her appearance without his approval. :D

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Is her armor beskar or durasteel, tho? My understanding is that a lot of Mandos still wear durasteel. I honestly have no idea, nor do I know where all these people are getting the idea that beskar is unable to hold paint.

Is this a "Clone Wars" show thing, maybe? I notice that "Clone Wars" and "Rebels" purists are only a few degrees less fanatical than real-life religious fanatics who demand your death for perceived acts of heresy. "He looked askance at my holy book! DIE HERETIC!!"

*big sigh* Kids these days.

See, but here is the thing: let's say the lekku had really been made that long.

We would instantly have a bunch of people complaining that they were way too long. Or, conversely that they were still not long enough, as Ahsoka is x years old and it is a known fact that lekku grow 2 inches a year, no more no less so her current age means they HAVE TO be x inches long.

All this seems like a super-minor hill to die on, but hey.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

And all this for a character that SW fans couldn't even stand when she was first introduced. Lol

To be fair, I doubt anybody not a female and under 8 years old in 2008 can honestly say they were:dunno
