Seen it about 2hours ago.
Some really great flashbacks scenes which I loved, especially the incorporation of some PT scenes and ROTJ stuff.
Great ep,didn't blow me away, but it's just setting things up.
Cannot wait to see where they take this!!

I sure hope HT doesn't try to tempt me with Sand People variants from that new tribe. Don't want to go down that road but I suppose I wouldn't mind the new Gamorrean design. Not much from the first episode was especially desirable as a figure, maybe Max Rebo but HT probably won't make him.

He'd look lonely without Sy and Droopy.

Maybe the old band will be back together by the end of TBoBF?

I have no doubt Hot Toys will make Sarlacc Escape Boba. An easy, low-effort re-paint.
As for the rest:
So much of it just didn’t feel like Star Wars to me, aesthetically.

"The new designs of droids, sandpeople, the lizard monster. Ooff. Even the lazer shields and shock sticks just didn’t jive with the era it’s meant to be set. I mean, rooftop parkour ninja fights… what? Something about the tone just feels… very off. I might be alone in this, but I really didn’t enjoy this episode."

I know it’s only the first episode, and maybe I’m too quick to judge, but it’s just not for me.

The creature looked like something you'd find in a Dejarik set. Loved the stop motion style Jason and the Argonauts look of it. Seems like I'm the only person who liked the creature though.

Everything in the flashback sequences was perfect imo, especially his interactions with the Tuskens and the use of the Bacta tank in triggering the memories. It was the stuff set in the modern Mando era that failed to hit home for me. I was just hoping for that holy crap Baby Yodaesque moment at the end of the episode, and it never came. The episode was just way too short overall, there should've been another 10-15 minutes on top of what we had. Mando utilised its short run-time better in its first episode. In retrospect they should've launched this show with a double episode.

Still, 7.5/10, a decent promising start.

The optimist in me says it can only go up from here.

However that said, Boba does seem pretty indestructible though. Still strong enough to defeat a monster, even after escaping the Saarlac, being dragged by a Bantha, starved with no water and beaten many times. That bit of worm juice they gave him at the Sarlac must have a lot of calories.

But OK don't want to be too negative. Next week should be interesting. No doubt the last supper scene at the table.

Same, I rather HT make figures of characters they've never made before, like if any of the bounty hunters show up and the Gamorrean Guards. I want the guards more after watching the episode, lol.
Yep, Gamorrean Guards would fit nicely with the throne. Those loyal little piggies !

Now I haven't seen the first episode yet, won't be able to watch it until later, but the title music has been put on YouTube. I actually laughed out loud when I heard it. Judging by the comments on the video I'm very much in the minority. Seemed to go over well with everyone else. I thought it was awful.
According to Disney+, this first episode is 38mins long but take off the credits and it's probably only 30-35 mins long.
That's way too short. It only has 7 episodes in this season.
Shouldn't be surprised though, The Mandalorian had Saturday morning cartoon length episodes too. Was hoping for an extended first episode like the first episode of season 2 of Mando. Oh well. I might do what I did with The Mandalorian and Bad Batch, wait until 2 or more have been uploaded to Disney+ so I can watch them back to back.

How is this music better than what we heard at the end of season 2 Mando, that music was fire and this aint doing it for me. I will survive, tho.

I was like, give him water, his kidneys are going to implode if you dont. We humans have got to have that water and lots of it. Not optional.

Upon my first re-watch I feel I was maybe a little harsh on it the first time around, especially the modern era parts. I revise my original score from 7.5/10 to 8.5/10.

The worm probably had some kind of healing properties, rather than it being used for nourishment. At least that's how I interpreted that scene.

Looking forwards to the second episode. I think Crimson Dawn is inevitable, and I for one am fine with that.
