Think about it like this: when you turned 4, a year was a 1/4 of your whole life; at 27, a year is a 1/27 of your whole life.
Since your experience of time is relative to how long you've lived, each year is a smaller portion of the whole.
By the time you're in your 60's they'll be clicking past like hours...in your 70's, they're like minutes...in your 80's...![]()
Makes sense. Your whole life is your perception of a "full" time.
Reminds me of Thranduil's line about how a hundred years is a mere blink to him.
