As amazing as this looks, I could sort of go without having the exact same character in nearly identical outfits packaged together. The battled damaged version hanging from the stand may as well be a statue, you don't have much freedom in how to pose him.

In a perfect world, if they are going to give us two outfits, I'd much prefer an entirely different scene, like the flight outfit or a tattooine outfit. If it's going to be nearly twice the price, I'd prefer just having one of the two.
Anyways, I'm jonesing for this luke, so can't be too picky.

I agree. If they would have done a Bespin/Dagobah or Bespin/Xwing Pilot gear I can see warranting a $400 price cause then you really are getting two full complete different figures in one box.

And if they do do Han I would hope they did include two different looks/outfits as others have mentioned.

From what it sounds like on Facebook it hasn't been completely approved, Howard wants it out in Q1 so this one might be quick in the preview, order, ship category due to the licensing delays

Q1 hope it does get delayed, I've got to much coming but either way I'm buying this :slap

I've gotta agree with the two different outfits thing as well. Although I'm extremely happy about this figure being released, a separate pilot outfit would've been excellent. Let's just hope when the next Luke gets made, we'll have the two outfit option.

If it will indeed be one SW release a year...I dont see another Luke being made for a L-O-N-G time. If ever.

I dunno, I think the BD Luke actually looks way cooler than the regular version, but I'll grant you he has limited display options. Thing is, as much as I LOVE the look of the antenna, I think the truly iconic moment for severed-hand Luke is the "That's not true - that's impossible!" line. It's too bad HT couldn't have found a way to turn a piece of that scaffolding into the display base. Ah well, splitting hairs, I guess.

Maybe if people find themselves preferring one look over the other, they could split the cost with someone who wants the other figure? That would help with the cost and probably make a lot of collectors happy...?

If he comes in at $400+, Thats what my cousin and I plan on doing. Each go in half and pick one figure each. Now I just hope he wants the "clean" version, cause I want the Battle Damaged version for certain!:lecture

I am liking what I see. While I agree a different outfit would have been cool (like hoth gear or pilot gear) that won't keep me from getting this one. he looks great.

Since he said something like he wanted to make figures from the 80s does that mean only OT stuff? I hope

And one a year? Hope next year is Hoth/Bespin Escape Leia and the year after is Bespin/ANH Han.

Technically "80's" would mean they're only making figures from Empire and Jedi. But I'm guessing he just meant they'd focus primarily on the OT.

It would seem that way but it would definitely contradict that little Anakin Skywalker slip that came during that earlier interview....unless the reference to Anakin Skywalker was actually a reference to a Darth Vader from ROTJ with a second Sebastian Shaw head and Jedi outfit for the 2nd figure....(I say Shaw because even though Lucas replaced him I'm still following the thought of Howards OT slant...)

But he also said that they'd all be DX, and PERS on Vader, even a simple reveal head that'll likely never see the light of day, would be completely worthless. :lol

Thats what Im assuming now after Howard mentioned doing figures with an 80's feel to them.

Im not interested in ANY HT Prequel figures myself so thats fine by me. :)

That would be abosolutely amazing if HT did a Shaw likeness for Anakin. I think Id shi t myself!

But what if the swapout on Shaw's head with PERS had the swapable hairpiece for Anakin and a bald cap piece for the reveal with the seam along the jaw piece and one of the deep wrinkles in the forehead?

Then PERS would be technically included but mainly for an Anakin "Ghost" figure option...

Still a wasted expense IMHO. "Looking" didn't really define Shaw's Anakin. :lol Simple painted eyes would be more than acceptable. And the swapout hairpiece w/bald cap would do nothing for the scars, which weren't on the ghost. I wouldn't at all be surprised if the "80's" remark was taken out of context and solely meant to explain the choice of ESB Luke as the point figure, not the whole of HT's plans. And if that's the case, the slip about Anakin, would be Hayden's which would be more fitting for a DX treatment (well, not really, but you know what I mean).
