One thing that really stood out to me was just how much better the likeness on the clean clean sculpt looked when I removed the hairpiece.

(The magnet was unattached and I had to reglue it.)

:gah: I've got some messed up paint on my Vader EX head and Sideshow can't replace it. Basically they're offering me $20 or return for a full refund. Its not like I can even buy a spare one for $20 :slap

I'm really tempted to return it and just order another one.

That sucks, that's my fear for the price. But as you say, you can return it and reorder.

$20 ain't worth that head that's selling for $100 on ebay.

But please post the picture you took for Sideshow here.

Damn you Sandy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mine was supposed to be here Wed...UPS still shows it in Parsippany NJ..where its been since Tuesday.. :-(

I'm in MA and my tracking e-mail says there were 2 weather events, both were obviously Sandy. One in Illinois and the other in MA.
The one in MA I don't understand though,it's been couple of days now and the weather has been clear.
There are also no updates on the e-mail either,my figure is in limbo some where.
Is there a way to change delivery services with Sideshow?
I'd rather Fed Ex deliver mine, they're in my neighborhood early in the day not late at night like UPS!

I had to do that with the Ex. Superman. Seemed like a waste of time for both them and myself, but. . .whatever.

Apparently not long. I can't get my flex order processed, because they don't have enough, but people who order this week have their orders shipped right away

Finally home and had some time to futz and play around with these figures.
A couple of not-so-good surprises...

First off, Luke doesn't have any feet, the ankle articulation just plugs into the boot. So forget about using the body for Jedi Luke. Are there any compatible feet? Other than the (I suppose) über scarce feet that come with these special bodies.
Second, the entire neck adapter system is not compatible with other True Types... I have my Jedi Luke on a TT and the neck adapter does not fit. At all. So forget about using the head for a Jedi Luke... How did the others go about this? What does one have to do? Any suggestions would be very welcome!
Finally, the arms on both figures do not elevate at the shoulders. They do move up sideways fine, but don't rotate forward... Anybody else find this?

The feet and neck adapter are no biggies, I just wanted to customize a better Jedi Luke, but the arms are perplexing...

Anyway, the figures and gear are fantastic! I'm very happy, except for those little details...

Finally got a chance to look mine over. I'm having the same magnet issue as others.

This figure really is outstanding. The sculpt is amazing and has the Mark Hamil look, especially the BD. Most of the photos just really do not do it justice. I feel the BD really has the Hamil look more, because he seems to act with his mouth open a lot and the BD head has that feature.

The pers really are a great feature, but most of these sculpts are emotion specific, so when the eyes are moved to a different direction, they just come off as creepy.

I haven't had a chance to look at the weather vane and stand, just the figure. I am simply blown away at how great they are. Glad I stuck it out and was not let down. Hope to have some photos this weekend.

Mine came today. I got HT's ALIEN big chap and Captain Dallas(for sale if interested) But I feel Luke is my first Hot toys figure.

Man, this figure is frakin AWESOME. He's so life like. The PERS freaks my wife out. Very impressive figure and to think a couple weeks back, I almost ate the $30 and cancelled him.

I mean its not horrible, but for the price we pay for them, the Hasbro slop isn't acceptable

I've tried the usual tricks that normally work on removing little bits of paint, but it didn't work. And the paint is so shiny it would be very difficult to match it and scratching it off would just make things worse I think. :(

Just received mine as well, but...

I noticed the box had a really bad ding to
one of the corners and I said as I opened
it, "Well, that sucks, but I'm not gonna complain."
:dunno

Then, after opening it and removing the figures
one at a time, I was showing a friend how the
hair was interchangeable between heads and
noticed, like a lot of yours, that the magnet
wasn't glued down under the "normal" Luke's
hair. I thought, "Well, that sucks, but I'm not
gonna complain. I can glue it myself."
:slap

Then, I looked at their faces and noticed the
Normal Luke has the paint rubbed off the entire
end of his nose! Ok, now, I'm officially crestfallen.
:thud:

I've heard of people contacting Sideshow about
damage like this, and I was wondering if anyone
could give me information how. I looked online
at their site, but didn't see anything about
damaged parts. I'm only wanting to tell them
about his nose and I'm hoping I won't have to
return EVERYTHING since i waited so long to
get it in the mail. So, any information on how
to let them know would be awesome, guys.

Thanks in advance!

Just call them and explain the damage. They will send you a replacement head and have return the damaged one.

You referring to those scuff marks? Mine has those as well. I assumed that they were intentional, representing damage when the faceplate exploded.
