So I got my DX Bespin Luke in today that I purchased NIB off of eBay. Outstanding looking figure. Both sculpts in my opinion are immaculate and bear a great likeness. Unfortunately, due to limitations on space at the moment, I can only display one, so I opted for the clean version with the blaster in hand.

However, like some of my other HT figures, I found that the glue that HT uses and leather doesn't mix, as I had a few issues with the belt. For starters, the metal hook on the belt of the clean version that the lightsaber hilt attaches to was unglued, so I had to re-glue it using Loctite gel glue. Second, the strap that wraps around the figure's thigh that holds the blaster holster in place also came unglued on both figures, as did one of the pouches on the battle damaged figure. The clean version is also missing one of adjustment holes on the thigh strap, which I believe seems to be a defect on HT's part during production being that I couldn't find it anywhere in the foam where the figure rested.

Other than having to re-glue a few things due to the belts aparently being fragile, no other issues. Definitely one of, if not my favorite SW HT figures.

Lightsaber hilt belt attachment on the clean figure. Used just a smidge too much glue, as it initially wasn't sticking to the belt when using just a dab.

Holster strap on clean figure.

Holster strap on battle damaged figure. I didn't bother re-gluing it at the moment, being that it has to unfortunately remain in the box for now anyway.

Many of them had belt glue issues, it's a great figure set and now you can plug in the farmboy light up sabre and he'll be ready to do battle with Vader.

Thanks!

Yeah, some of the leather components on some of my other figures (pouch straps, etc.) had the same issue. I have a TFA Captain America figure and one of the leather straps on one of the leather pouches on the belt came unglued also a few months back.

In retrospect, I wish I had double sided a very small piece duct tape and used that on the metal hook for the lightsaber hilt to reattach it to the belt as opposed to re-gluing it. Oh well, either way works.

I have ANH Luke coming at the end of this month, so I'll be able to do the lightsaber arm trick. I heard it only works on the battle damaged version though being that's the one that has the removable elbow joint?

I thought I was never going to find the saber hook that fell off my figure. Then I did and it was the best day of my life for five minutes. I hope they got a deal on that glue.

Yeah, I got mine 2.5 years ago and now I remember re-gluing EVERY FREAKING THING on that figure. Be careful, as more stuff is bound to fall off in the future. I love it though. It's the best DX figure ever. Two high-quality suits, every accessory you can think of, and amazing sculpt & paint work. All for $290 (that's what I paid at my comic book store in 2013). We'll never get a deal like that from Hot Toys again. I'm sure the price has gone up since then, but it maintains its initial fresh-out-the-box shock-and-awe value.

I picked it up for $517, which seemed to be a pretty low price considering I see many of them going NIB in the $600-$800 range now. I'm anticipating having to glue more parts in the future on the belt if I already had to re-glue stuff fresh out of the box. Hopefully it won't be too much though, if anything at all. I'm not really one to do too much futzing with my figures once I got them in the pose I want them in. Minor tweaks, but generally nothing major. Even though it has the PERS feature, which is nifty, I'm not really one to adjust the eyeball position; I just leave the sculpt alone as if it were any other MMS HT figure. If I want it looking a particular direction, I simply turn the head.

I'm definitely happy with it. Even with all the ANH and TFA releasing, it's still probably going to be my favorite SW figure. If I could only keep one SW figure, this would probably be it. Like you said, the amount of accessories this set comes with is insane, and the paint work and detailing is stupendous. The sculpts bear a really great likeness. And as attom44 mentioned, they likely will make a 2.0 version, but I don't think it will include the amount of accessories and features that this set does. I like the fact that it comes with two different figures.

No worries they will make a 2.0 version.. I'll wait for the new version..:) Great figure thou and enjoy..:)

Thanks! :duff

Decided to unbox BD Bespin Luke after all. I figured it's too nice of a figure to just let languish in the box. I'll make room for him somewhere. I ended up switching the belts subsequent this quick photo, as I figured the missing adjustment hole on the one belt would conform better to the BD motif at least.

Absolutely love this set.

Was it a straight swap over to the DX body? I've been meaning to do this as I don't feel good having the ANH Luke holding an ESB lightsaber.

It seems like a lot less work to modify the lightsaber hilt than to swap everything over - then again, ANH Luke doesn't really need a saber.

It's easy stuff. I did it last night with my Bespin and the arm I bought from TA. You just pull Bespin Luke's arm out at the elbow and push the ANH Luke's saber arm in.

Hey freaks wanted to share a pic of my HT Bespin Luke holding the ignited A New Hope light saber. Sorry for the crappy pic

That looks really good, fb117!

I think this figure does the LED lightsaber more justice than ANH Luke for several reasons: The hilt is the ESB design (not really a big deal since they're all supposed to be the same saber, but still...), he actually dueled with it and the duel took place in a dark setting. Not to mention the Bespin Luke set is awesome.

I picked up this set a few weeks ago, and it's one of my top two favorite HT figures. I also just picked up an extra ESB hilt without a blade (the one that came with the set is on the belt of the clean figure) that I'm waiting to arrive so I can re-pose my BD Bespin Luke in a pose modeled after this particular pose/scene. I figure most either have their figures actually wielding their sabers, or the hilt is hanging from the belt. Not many that are just simply holding the hilt without the blade.

Still love this figure, but the ANH version HT released recently and that LED saber... Big "meh" - I'll be getting rid of both of mine. I still can't wrap my head around anyone liking the head sculpt. It's like spitting in the face of every talented artist working in 1/6 today - the ones who actually capture a character and actor's likeness.

I got my ESB shelf configured today. I still remember opening this one up and thinking"wow! I can't wait for more HT Star Wars!"

Great display, Coco.

Even if HT releases a Bespin Luke 2.0 with the inevitable ESB line, I'm still more than happy with DX Bespin Luke. It just comes with so many accessories and options, not to mention the two separate, awesomely detailed figures; the epitome of what a DX package should be. It's my second favorite HT figure, and my favorite SW figure.

Here is a pic of my Bespin Luke with the ANH saber arm. He has been hanging up on the weathervane pretty much since the day I got them so this pose is just a quickie.

Great picture!

As mentioned, this figure I think does the LED lightsaber more justice. Even though it's the Vader from ANH, he'd look better dueling Bespin Luke with LED sabers, if you want to have Vader dueling Luke.
