No, but throwing ____ in the faces of those who did, should be. This is the same BS posting you did in the leaky DX thread. The "____ you, yay for me!" bull____. How soon you forget so long as it serves your purpose. :monkey1

Not the first time you posted a "How soon you forget so long as it serves your purpose" kind of post.

Clearly you have forgotten the extensive posting that I have done in response proving that I have in fact forgotten nothing and that it is you who has created false memories of things I never said.

You are wrong. Simple as that.

Regarding my reaction to EVILFACE's post:

I haven't read past that post as I just found this thread, but I hope you blasted him the way you're blasting me. He's the one that said it. It would be pretty lame if you were singling me out.

I wasn't really thinking about the way EVILFACE's post might be seen as "throwing ____ in the faces" of those who made awesome customs. I was just saying that I'm glad that I waited to make the mods myself.

I never said anything remotely like "____ you, yay for me!" regarding the DX02, and I'm not saying that now.

Classic.

No intelligent words from NAM so I get the "lolz" lineup.

Just to be clear, I wasn't waiting to make the mods because I was holding out for a HT version (yay for me).

I just lucked out because I was distracted with other projects.

Not gonna bother explaining it to you. I already did in the leaky DX thread ad nauseam. Although you say you did, you didn't get it then, and you don't get it now. You want people to think you're an insensitive _______, I don't really care anymore. :huh

As for EF, like myself or Shai, it's to be expected. Though I'm more blunt than insensitive.

OMG cant believe that we are finally getting a HT Indy. I wouldve been happy with a regular MMS release but it being a DX is just freakin awesome. My bank account is gonna be long gone after this and Reeve's superman. Cant wait for the 24th to get here

I hope this headsculpt is a homerun... HT's headsculpt likeness are overall really good, but not all of them are dead on. I hope this one is.

WOW!

man, after all the speculation and the wishing, looks like it is finally gonna happen!

but i must say this is still a surprise. i thought ss was at least gonna continue the star wars line.

while i prob won't be getting any 1/6 indys (more than happy with my 2 pfs), i will still be looking forward to what ht brings to the table. i'm sure they'll be great.

as for star wars, there are a few figures i probably wanna get, IF ht ever gets that deep into the franchise.
- han solo & jedi luke (this is a 100% certainty for ht to make)
- chewbacca (but only if they do fabric fur and not sculpted)
- boba fett
- the other bounty hunters (boussh, IG88, etc)
- emperor palpatine (wasn't entirely impressed with ss version)
- yoda (see above reason)

what about u folks?

Interesting read on the way home from tron. The HT Indy will be cool I'm sure. If it's true Trevor isn't working on it that could very well be an issue. Unlike Iron Man which I don't buy for the RDJ sculpts this one I do. If it's not there then no sale especially at what I think the price will be.

As far as the hate on the SS Indu figures. They're pretty cool. Some issues sure but I display mine proudly and will do so still even after picking up this one.

Nam- I like that you're blunt. You say things sometimes I can't. :lol

For those that are worried about Hot Toys not completing their product lines and what this might mean for Indy and Star Wars, I'd suggest that there is a fundamental difference in the way SSS approaches a line and the way HT does. I'd say that SS views each of their 1/6 licences as a separate product line: GI Joe; Indy; Star Wars; etc. I reckon as far as HT is concerned, they have a Movie Masterpiece line; and DX line; their M Icons line; etc, so there is a less compelling need for depth to the individual franchise characters. They get their depth instead through variety and scope of the films that they present.

Not much comfort, possibly, to those worried that they might not get their favourite (secondary) character, but truth be told the only license these days that I can think of that supports sales of second- and third-tier characters is Star Wars, and it's a bit silly to continue to use that as the model for product line development, when it's the exception rather than the rule.

I am very curious what the base will be...
I am thinking to buy a 1/6 ark now...(the hasbro one) but maybe 1/6 ark will be included with the dx hot toys but if not hasbro ark prices will get to high so now i am in dillema :)

What kills figure lines off? Poor character choices. Something sideshow and Hot Toys have been guilty of. I'm sure if Sideshow had made better choices in the Indy line it would've been more successful. No map room Indy, a German outfit Indy with a hat that won't come off, no Mola Ram, a Cristal Skull Indy before a Temple of doom Indy, and no Marion. I think these choices helped the Indy line become on hold indefinitely

This one, speaks the truth he does.

I don't know. Yes, character choices contributes to a line's longevity, but I don't think it was the main determinant in the Indy line. Sideshow gave us heavy hitters like Belloq, Toht, and Jones, Sr. I don't think any of those were mistakes (may have been a mistake giving us Belloq in a suit, but I don't think that would have made a huge difference). Mola Ram was very possibly cost prohibitive for Sideshow. I don't think Marion would have sold well, despite big fans wanting her, because she's just not all that interesting looking as a toy. And I'm not sure a Map Room Indy would have sold well, either, because he's not going to appeal to the less hardcore Jones fans out there.

Indy is an incredibly popular character and is going to sell if done right (every Sideshow Indy release had a flaw or drawback of some sort which held back his true selling potential, IMO), but I'm not sure the supporting cast has a great chance to succeed as collectibles, no matter what type of collectible you are referring to. I just don't think this license has that kind of appeal, so I don't think selection of this character over that one played the kind of role you are speaking of. Just my 2 cents.

True, but I would go a little further than that. I think pricing is just as important as character choices and they go hand in hand. I think secondary characters, and even secondary versions of the main character, should be priced a little lower. Why price the main Indy the same as German Indy if German Indy was onscreen for only a short amount of time and is a much much less "iconic" look for Indy? Same with the potential Map Room Indy. Remember a while back when the record companies wanted to introduce variable pricing on iTunes? They wanted the popular new songs to be priced higher than 99¢, and older catalog titles priced below 99¢. It was a terrible idea for the music industry, but I think would work with the 1/6 market. Price all the main figures the way they are currently, then maybe go 10-20% lower for less popular figures and variants. The lower price will make it more enticing for anyone who was on the fence and thought, "nah, I can bash my own German Indy". If it was priced at $69-$79, it would have been an easier sell.

So its been confirmed (or at least suggested) that Trevor is not involved?

That would be too bad... but at the same time the sculptors at HT are as good as it gets, so I'm confident we'll still get a killer figure.

Dude, I got it then and I get it now.

I fully admitted to being insensitive! :cuckoo:

Let me remind you that it was one post saying that I hope people with leaky DX02's can be happy for those of us with non-leaky Bats. It was a stupid, insensitive, and impulsive thing to post. But that was one post which was preceded by countless posts expressing my empathy and regret for all those that were screwed by Hot Toys. And after my one insensitive post I gave a long sincere apology acknowledging my insensitiveness. You claimed that my apology was insincere, which is imputing bad motives and frankly, a douchey thing to do. My theory on that is that you have little to no experience with apologizing. If you ever were to apologize for something you've said (and believe me, there are a multitude of offensive and insensitive things you have said that you could apologize for) it would be insincere. You assume that all people are like you. Well, that's decidedly not the case.

If I have said anything inaccurate here, the burden of proof lies on you this time. I have extensively quoted the related posts for you to make this point. And I'm a little bit disgusted that you are still bringing it up.

Why do I bother to respond you ask?

1) Your accusations offend my sense of justice.

2) You are making accusations publicly.

As for EF, like myself or Shai, it's to be expected. Though I'm more blunt than insensitive.

Indeed, and I've gotten pretty used to the three of you in that regard... but seriously, that's ____ing double standard bull____.

...I don't really care anymore. :huh

If that were the case you wouldn't keep bringing it up.

As for me, all I ask is that you read this entire post and fully comprehend it. I realize that you are incapable of saying, "I understand" or "point taken", but just read it and understand it.

I don't have anything else to say about it in this thread. I have only ever received one infraction, and it was because of this ongoing thing with you. I have to look at that every time I go to my User CP, which is probably 50 times a day. I really don't want to add another one.
