Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I will get the smiling Bruce and wait for the eventual HT FOF instead. To Westerners, ETD will be the movie that you all remember him by. To the Chinese, Fist of Fury is THE BL movie.

That movie really resonates with me because I am Chinese and I am staying in a country that was under British colonization at one point and then the Japanese during WW2. Of course I wasn't born yet but hearing stories from those who survived the Japanese atrocity (daily beheading, dead camps, raped, mutilation...) makes me wish they have a Bruce Lee back then to fight for them.

Despite being a British colony, they ran away the moment the Japanese started taking over the country state by state. They only came back after Japanese surrendered and act like they liberated us.

I agree Yulli should be doing more sculpt. Her output is really low recently. Wondered why is that.

But at the end of the movie, Chen Zhen still lost to the Japanese :dunno:panic::lol

To me, as more of a fan of Bruce Lee and not so experienced collector of figures than the rest of you good people here, I think that Hot Toys first attempt is very nice, how ever to me it did not quite top Arnie Kim's creations in realism and likeness of Bruce Lee. But it is close and I have to say I do really love the above photos and I think it is good that there is another figure company that will be able to compete and take the Bruce Lee figurines to a higher and higher level - which us collectors will only profit of in a very positive way :)

.

You sir are talking out of your Arse.
British were over run by the Japanese, many were taken Prisoner, including civilians and soldiers like my great Uncle, most were treated appallingly.
I am very sorry for what happened to the Chinese, but don't distort history.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that only China is a British colony. They are a lot of other minor colonies where British soldiers left and the locals have no choice but to surrender.

Sure, they were British soldier here but majority of those who fought the Japanese are locals. Surely history looks different to you when you are in the middle of it instead of hearing about it from another continent.

You are making out that people from my country were cowards.
If you ever come to the UK I will take you to a places that shows the names of many Soldiers who died so you and I live the life we do now.
My Grandfather was never a well man after his ship was sent to Hiroshima after the bomb. He and my Great Uncle are better men than you and I will ever be.

Not to make things political here, but I think we Indians being a British colony for years and having been really subjected to misery know what the British regime were like...

and yes, the british army in any colony were mainly comprised of the native people. I dont think the British population was THAT big compared to the population of India and China at that time or even now...

Back to the Bruce Lee figure...

FINALLY -- we will see these soon in our hands.

Look I won't pretend that Britain was a wonderful Empire, it has a very cruel history even to it's own soldiers. However the Term "Running Away" implies that British Soldiers were cowards and that is just wrong.

Let's not turn this into a polictical/cultural/historic argument. Whatever was it that actually occurred, none of us really knows. The thing is that we are all here enjoying collecting figures. Let's keep it like that as thankfully we are all free to do as we please.

Anyways, I wonder if the hair sculpt of the smiling Bruce fits these as well. I like that hair sculpt better.

Anyway I just want to say I still consider you all my fellow Freaks and Friends even if we disagree sometimes.

DX looks slightly smaller than the Enterbay in these Pics

One thing we have not seen is the other backdrop and the exclusive nameplate. And the snake.

I might replace it with the bendable Sideshow snake that came with Yoda.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

The DX looks smaller than the EB because the body that the BL uses is the BL 2.5, which is the hunched look.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I am still wondering if I can get away with using a modded EB 3.5 body?

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

You would need a bit of custom works on the neck joint etc, but I noticed that the HT head is a bit too small compared to the EB head. I personally like the EB hair sculpt better.

The neck post will need a mod, maybe use some blu tac to give it like a pseudo ball joint?
But I think the result wont be that great as the head will look slightly smaller and more importantly the paint and texturing will just not gel well between the head and the body.
