Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Looks like the best way to get a second body now then is a smiling Bruce Lee, because a separate body is going to cost just as much :(

WHAT! you mean the seperate body is being sold for OVER a $100? Thats crazy, Im sure if you wait the prices will come down. Also HT might just release the BL body for a short run once it has the other 2 figures out on the market.

Since I was not able to snag the exclusive, I was ecstatic to see the new Icons figures and not really digging the casual suit much, I decided to but the casual look JUST for the body, and keep the clothing for a later kit-bash and will probably sell the smiling head. The suited look is what I prefer so, in anycase Ill get the extra body :) later

Never thought it would be smaller than the EB figures, awesome!

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I see people mentioning how he doesn't look like Bruce and how there are problems with the sculpting and such.

But all I see is an absolutely amazing figure :horror

This figure becomes more awesome with every set of pictures we see. It's blowing my mind. How Hot Toys is able to do things like this is beyond me. It's the same with Enterbay too and especially their new Game of Death Bruce Lee coming out. I don't get how these people are able to do this lol. I look at Medicom and then I look at these releases and I swear there's a twenty year difference between them, but nope Medicom RAH are sometimes even more expensive and they come out all the time. :slap

Congrats to those lucky ones who know they have the E secured :wink1:

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I doubt they will release it by itself. I think that was the whole reason of the MIS Bruce Lee. You want an extra body? Then get one of those figures.

I think that about 90% of the people buying the regular DX will buy at least one of the MIS.

Nice pics OMG. Funny thing is I never realized both HSs had PERS!! How is this version of PERS?
About wonkyness of the eyes I usually position both eyes and then push it in the opposite direction a lil to finetune things

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

If they did fix it, they didn't fix it enough. Still looks nothing like Bruce and with Arnie's new smiling sculpts thats become even more apparent.

People forget that Bruce could actually act. Forget the cheesiness of the theatrical framework he was working in for a moment and look at the range of expression Bruce achieved in his performances. Fair enough if you have a problem with the sculpting detail itself, but this HS is based on a very particular look from one scene in the movie and IMO they nailed it. To say it looks 'nothing like Bruce', well... I'm glad my eyes are seeing something different.

What I see is that from certain angles, it is unmistakeably Bruce. Not so in others, but it is good enough for me. I cannot really tell what is it that they fixed, it just looks more like it should. I would have liked a sculpt as good as Arnie's latest protos, but this is still a good sculpt, both actually. The position of the eyes also play a role in the likeness.

I think it's mainly down to fixing the lips and the mustache area of face and making it smaller . The brow area is different, nose seems slightly changed. eyes look closer together.
Slight changes that makes one look like Bruce lee and the other look like Lou Diamond Phillips

Yeh, changes are subtle but effective. As well as the mouth area, the face is more square around the jaw/jowls, the nose has been flattened and the chin fattened up a bit.

Damn... I am worrying that when I am in Hong Kong next month I might be tempted to buy this figure.............. Argh....

Does anyone know if this is a limited edition run of this particular HT figure ?

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

It does not matter if it is a limited run, most Hot Toys figures sell out within months of release, and this being Bruce you better get it soon.

I think that Hot Toys first attempt is very nice, how ever to me it did not quite top Arnie Kim's creations in realism and likeness of Bruce Lee.

post confused me. hot toys figure sculpted by arnie kim too.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

The new 'smiling Bruce' sculpt is Arnie Kim. The DX Enter the Dragon is not.
