Hi, I'm an avid collector of 1:6 action figures and I can say that Hot
Toys is clearly the best manufacturer there is! Awesome work. I have
more than 15 Hot Toys figures. I am writing you today to talk about
two big concerns that have been voiced loudly on several collectibles
forums (Sideshowcollectors.com and onesixthwarriors.com) with regards
to up coming figures you are releasing.
1. THOR... I think for the most part that this figure is great. The
headsculpt likeness is generally very good. There are two small issues
however that I feel need addressing with this figure. (A) The body
doesn't seem big enough. Chris Hemsworth has bulked up considerably
for the role and I'm worried the Hot Toys figure will look too average
in stature next to other Hot Toys figures. (B) While the headsculpt is
nice, it doesn't lend itself to more dramatic aggressive posing. Is it
possible to get a second 'battle cry' head sculpt like was done with
the 300 King Leonidas figure?.
2. INDIANA JONES... This is one of my favorite characters of all time
and could be a truly amazing figure... however there are various
things that concern me with the prototype that Hot Toys has shown.
Firstly, the headsculpt likeness is not close enough to Harrison Ford
as he appeared in Raiders of the Lost Ark. This is the most important
facet. If the headsculpt is fixed I would have NO problem purchasing
this figure at the (rather expensive) $250 price point. Secondly, DX
figures in the past almost always (Joker, Batman, Bruce Lee) come with
2 headsculpts. Since this figure will have enough costuming for two
figures, why not include a second headsculpt? Thirdly, the hat seems
to ride too high on the head of the figure. This contributes to the
feeling that it doesn't look enough like Ford as Indy. Forth, the
Jacket seems a bit plasticky and the costume/shoes in general could
use a little bit of weathering. Indy is never wearing a 'clean'
version of his costume in the movie. There's always dust, sand, dirt
and sweat.
Thank you for reading. I'm hoping you will listen to the concerns of
many of your fans. Im sure you have received many notes such as this
and I look forward to seeing how the final production figures look!
