figures leaking? I've never heard of that. I just ordered this guy, Im gonna have to read on to see whats said about these issues...

I did a quick search and I don't know how many thousands of Comedian figs went out but I've only come across a few mentioning oil leakage and one claim to it causing a disintegrated costume. I have no doubt there has been some problems but relatively speaking it's very few. That's why I called it exaggerated speculation. Most of the comments I've seen refer to their figure as being just fine.

I'm not worried about 89 Bats at all.

Re: The durability of PERS?

I've actually been meaning to ask about that. The only DX I have is DX01 Joker, and the PERS freakin' broke. Can anyone confirm whether this has or has not been an issue on the more recent DX figures? Thanks!

DX01 was the main figure with the tough PERS that was reported broken by many who bought it. DX01 and 02 had eyes that weren't aligned for some as well. but DX02 had a better PERS than DX01 and from what it seems DX03 and 04 seem to be working pretty smoothly as well. I've only been in the latter threads a few times so I'm not so up to date on them. we'll most likely find out about how well DX 06 Jack Sparrow's PERS works soon. no one knows about DX05 Indy though unfortunately

I think that this figure is just one that you have to PO and i guess "roll the dice" as far as the leaking goes.

I do not think that it will leak, and even if some have issues, it would probably be a relatively small amount in relation to how many are produced.

If you hold out and the fig sells out you are gonna hate yourself like no other when you are paying $800 - $1000 for the set on the bay.

I got a loose Lee body and it has leakage around its torso joint. I'm told it's the "oil" so the skin could be slipped onto the torso. It really doesn't bother me but it is odd. I would think that little oil actually helps keep the rubber lubricated. I expect once that oil dries years from now that then the rubber will begin to break down. I don't think these figures were made to last decades.

Thanks, Mags. I already knew Bats had some leakage problems though. I was mainly talking about rotting suit claims.

There are lots of pics of the leaking leading to rotting (maybe "melting" is a better word... or 'turning to booger' as NAM says) in that thread if you have the time to sift through it.

However, as I said before, I would like to hear more about non-leaky figures rotting.

were do you guys suggest to order both these figs from that wont charge a cancellation fee if i descide to cancel in the long run?

BBTS. No cancelation fee until it arrives at their shop. Most everywhere else has a NRD or a cancel fee. Even Sideshow charges a fee for Joker this go-round apparently.

My suit "melted" where it was leaking. It looked similar to Thrustmaster's here:

Found this by googling.https://www.si.edu/mci/english/research/past_projects/rubber_deterioration.html

Rubber Deterioration

Two processes are of special importance in the preservation of rubber: oxidation, a chemical deterioration, and crystallization, a molecular restructuring that causes the material to loose its elasticity. Modern rubber, such as that found in NASM spacesuits, is highly susceptible to oxidation, and will slowly crystallize at room temperature.

Rubber can be preserved against oxidation by cold storage but only at the cost of consideraly accelerating crystallization. However, it was found that such low temperature crystallization is reversible through heating, and that crystallization occurring at sufficiently low temperatures will be completely reversed by returning the object to room temperature. This was found also to be valid for rubber that has already undergone appreciable chemical change through oxidation. Hence, cold storage provides an effective long-term preservation strategy for rubber.

FP p!$$ me off. I preordered 3 little Star Wars figures off them and I get an email saying they're awaiting restocks? Wtf? When the hell did it come 'into stock' in the first place? Why wasn't my order fulfilled with that initial stock? Why are they keeping preorders open when they can't get enough to fulfil those orders? Anywhere else you preorder something you get it, no probs.

Dot com?....

So.... is anyone planning to put their rubber figures in a freezer? :dunno

My replacement Batman is doing fine. I have yet to have a rubber figure from HT break down over time, the only issue i've had was oily Batman and that was right from the factory. I do think environment is key for brrakdown but the DX02 was a production flop.
