My replacement Batman is doing fine. I have yet to have a rubber figure from HT break down over time, the only issue i've had was oily Batman and that was right from the factory. I do think environment is key for brrakdown but the DX02 was a production flop.

Same here, and i hope it says that way

One would think that they would develop said rubber, testing it under extreme conditions.

My 300 Leo is fine and without issue, my DX02 Bats is leaking a bit but no melting so far after more than 2 years.

So.... is anyone planning to put their rubber figures in a freezer? :dunno

Nah, my underwear already takes up too much space.

And that's a scary pic, karamazov. :horror I still feel that's the minority of them (still shouldn't be happening) and I'm betting we won't have any of those issues with Keaton Bats.

Thanks, Mags. I already knew Bats had some leakage problems though. I was mainly talking about rotting suit claims.

Melting suit is a more appropriate description which is what I think people meant by "rotting."

I got a loose Lee body and it has leakage around its torso joint. I'm told it's the "oil" so the skin could be slipped onto the torso. It really doesn't bother me but it is odd. I would think that little oil actually helps keep the rubber lubricated. I expect once that oil dries years from now that then the rubber will begin to break down. I don't think these figures were made to last decades.

That's different. And not really. HT used some type of oil to lube the TrueTypes so that they could slip the suits over them. That oil's usually found in the boots of the figures, beneath, etc. The oil that's damaging the figures is caused from HT improperly curing the rubber sued for the suits so they're breaking down into the components they were cured from.

Yesterday was pure excitement, today, the long wait begins. Regardless, the pics are art in and of themselves, and I can't stop looking at them. Love the font/border as well, brings back memories of the 89' Trading Cards that my cousin passed down to me.

That's a bit naive. There've been leaking issues with every single run from the Asian release to the DCD run, in which, HT lied in a letter to DCD saying they knew about the issue, it had been addressed, and prevented on the DCD batch. Poke into the thread and have a look. It's not nearly as "minor" as people want to make it out to be. Hell, just do a websearch for "leaky DX batman" and have a gander. :(

Ahem, the Hot Toys Facebook page was flooded with requested returns. Check the other thread on why.

You were here when this was all going on.

Or better yet, stick with the rubber used for OC and TDK Batman which were fine, they changed things and it backfired.

I've received muscle body figures since then with no issue so i do believe it's isolated to DX02, though i hear there was some issue with the Comedian, i didn't get him.

I see just as many, if not more, comments about people not having any issues as I do ones having them. That's the only reason I'm saying it's not as major as people are making it out to be. Still really horrible that it's happening.

If mine had done like karamazov's did then I may feel really bitter but it didn't. Looked perfect for months. I sold it a while back though.

Some of the comments here have made it sound like every Keaton Batman is gonna disintegrate in a couple years and I noticed those new to HT being very leary in placing an order. Just wanted to make sure they new it wasn't all that.

This is like a dream come true to me. I've been waiting for a decent Batman figure based on the Tim Burton movies for so so long. HT is awesome again!

A lot of people are complaining illogically when it comes to value. The figure comes fully loaded with accessories. Even those that didn't make it into the final cut like the ninja wheels. A lot of times it needs to be appropriate to the movie to include more head sculpts. Batman never took off his cowl in the movie unless you refer to the original script and comic. There's really no reason to include a Bruce Wayne head. Another Batman head is not needed when they included movable eyes and swappable faces.

I just hope that the batarang can be folded like in the movie.

Yeah like yours my first DX bats leaked and ever since the replacement I haven't seen a single drop. Its been perfect. But I agree though, go back to the same rubber they used for OC and TDK. They may have for all we know.

I know lots of other people have already said this, but this could be the best figure HT has made yet -- if those pictures are accurate.

BBTS. No cancelation fee until it arrives at their shop. Most everywhere else has a NRD or a cancel fee. Even Sideshow charges a fee for Joker this go-round apparently.
My two hesitations with BigBadToyStore is that their shipping is an "estimate" and that they'll likely charge far more when they actually send it, and secondly I believe they get their figures dead last.

While I don't think that'll happen, and have him on order, it's definitely something to be concerned about and I'll be watching the Thor figure to see if they've fixed the issue.
