Price complaints aside, this is a phenomenal figure.

i like the tdk movies best, but i like this keaton batman figure best.
to me this costume is batman.

At least it happened on such an important license for us :yess:

I can deal with a wait on these, they're real important so it gives me time to save and be secure with them. However, if HT EVER does BD T2 or Rambo 4, I'll be the most impatient mother____er on the planet waiting for those :lol

:lol All too true. I just wonder when they'll find time to fit it in to their stocked comic property schedule.

Found this by googling.https://www.si.edu/mci/english/research/past_projects/rubber_deterioration.html

Rubber Deterioration

Two processes are of special importance in the preservation of rubber: oxidation, a chemical deterioration, and crystallization, a molecular restructuring that causes the material to loose its elasticity. Modern rubber, such as that found in NASM spacesuits, is highly susceptible to oxidation, and will slowly crystallize at room temperature.

Rubber can be preserved against oxidation by cold storage but only at the cost of consideraly accelerating crystallization. However, it was found that such low temperature crystallization is reversible through heating, and that crystallization occurring at sufficiently low temperatures will be completely reversed by returning the object to room temperature. This was found also to be valid for rubber that has already undergone appreciable chemical change through oxidation. Hence, cold storage provides an effective long-term preservation strategy for rubber.

Hmm... need to figure out a way to mod my detolf to have AC.

Seriously though, I was thinking about this (or any other non-leaky rubber figure) today. Lets say that in 10 years the deterioration starts. It's not like it instantly turns to dust. It might start developing slight flaws but it's still gonna look like Batman standing there. And, after all, that's what matters.

In 10 years there are gonna be lots of new figures to be excited about. I don't think I'm gonna a cry if this guy doesn't look as stelar as the day I got him.

Moral of the story: IM NOT GONNA WORRY ABOUT IT. :)

This is an easy buy, Joker not so much, the increased price for Joker seems unjustified, i don't care of the reasons behind it, but it's of slightly better quality of cheaper Dx's.

That and This figure is far more iconic to me.

You can have Batman & Joker on display, or just Batman, but not just Joker.

Preordered Batman, but I'm still on the fence with Nicholson Joker. I mean, Batman is expensive, but buying Joker nearly doubles this already extravagant purchase.

I'm torn. Any thoughts on what the collectibility of the Joker will be? Meaning, do you think I can wait a bit until I have some more cash, or will this become another $700 Hot Toys Figure?

If you can have only one of these, I'd say go for the Jack Nicholson Joker. Choosing Batman over this would be a grave mistake, in my opinion. It's very likely that Hot Toys will do another Keaton Batman when they tackle Batman Returns (they might even include a bare Michael Keaton head sculpt, in addition to the mask). But, unlike Keaton Batman, there's only going to be one Jack Nicholson Joker (as Nicholson acted as the Joker only in 89 Batman).

Of course it doubles it -- it's two figures. Relative to overall cost, Joker isn't that much more. $20-25?

I actually think there's a good chance we'll see another version of Jack.

Not if they decide to make Partyman Joker with tan face and crazy beret.

But they may do another Joker to get maximum use out of the license. It was stated early in the thread that was HT plans (for what that's worth).

At least there is nothing rubbery on Joker, so while Batmans degrading, Joker will be complete and solid:lol

My guess is he'll be up there though on the secondary market.
