Well, thats a whole different bag really. Prime lenses would be best, but thats not really a good choice unless you are a really serious pro photographer as they dont zoom, they are what they are. that being said, they cause the least lens distortion. As a starter though, youd probably be happy with any kit lens. The kit lens that came with my d7000 (18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR) is a nice wide angle to medium zoom and would work well for taking some closeups (although not too close) and being just a good general lens. if you are going to use it almost exclusively for taking toy shots, I would go with the 18-55mm lens as it will give you a bit less lens distortion. That's the one I had on my old camera that i'm going to put up on ebay and it always served me well.

Thanks for the advise :hi5:

I think i'll go buy a point and shoot now :lol

If its just for fun, thats really all you need. Like i said, i've been a photographer since high school, so the d700 is justified since i use it semi-professionally, but a point and shoot would suit your needs just fine. My dad has the nikon coolpix p510 and its a nice blend of both worlds and takes great shots. really, any good photograph is 20% equipment, 20% vision and 60% post lol

Also, to keep it on topic, here's a stainless steel plate i made to go on a dual case i'm working on for the '89 figures, although im thinking i might make individual cases instead.

i'm going to make one of my cases but with an angled front piece that will have the plate mounted on it. It's basically a stainless steel plate that is engraved black. I might take orders for the cases if there's enough interest, or for the steel plate by itself too. I ordered the package deal from AE though so it will be a while before i can actually take a pic of a case with anything in it lol.

OMG you found a way to sneak your photos back in. :slap

Don't worry I'm not going to go crazy, I'm being selective, if you don't approve, just ignore. :lecture

Besides viewing three pages of what camera to buy on this Batman 1989 image thread was getting to me :thud:

Not that I don't mind the advice for equipment to use for great pics, I'm sure it is valid, but it doesn't need to spread no longer than a few posts.

I understand the gripe about re-post pictures but I'm just glad to see some pictures at all. The last few pages of this have been nothing related to Keaton Bats. Is this the right thread or even forum for all this camera talk?

I'm not reposting the same pictures, these new ones are my BD version :(

I understand they're new photos, what I was referring too was you finding a way to start posting your photos again even after you started your own thread. No problem with you post new photos of your WIP, just that you have a tendency to go crazy and every page ends up be all about Guyver. All thing in moderation.

Like I said, I'm toning it down, I'm still putting the majority on my thread, I just can't stand it when this thread gets off track, about information that should be put in another thread, like which camera to buy, or what's the difference between a dx or a movie masterpiece. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, sooner or later the viewers of this thread will lose interest in this thread, and this is one of my favorite threads as of late to view on this forum.

but I'm getting extremely annoyed with conversations that have nothing to do with the idea of this thread spamming over a page or two. :dunno

A few posts should just cover any advice that people want to give that's not related to the thread, more than one page's worth is not what this thread is for. :slap

I agree, such discussions should be taken to PM if there going to keep asking one person for advice. But you have to admit you did go NUTZ on the Indy threads.
