Well tbh I always thought it was coming out in March anyway. So having it in people's hands a month early and a million pictures later by guyver, maglor, maulfan, and your uncle bob kind of lessens the impact a bit.

Well, you kept things in persepective then. As soon as the flood of in hand pics hit I got my hopes up, which was stupid.
Well tbh I always thought it was coming out in March anyway. So having it in people's hands a month early and a million pictures later by guyver, maglor, maulfan, and your uncle bob kind of lessens the impact a bit.
Hence I just don't follow the threads the same. I've been there as well. You see that many photos it feels like you've owned the figure already. When it arrives it feels like everyone told you the plot of the film before you've seen it. Same reason I missed Maglor's descriptive posts.
Not that I'm condemning people posting photos. I'm not, but if you want things to stay fresh and exciting, you have to stay away from the threads.

Even though the original release date was March, it's still tough to sit tight when you feel like you're one of the few that release date still applies to. 
I tried to stay out, but I wanted to know of any QC issues to look out for, mods or fixes to make the figure better, etc. I like to make sure I've absorbed everything there is to know about a figure I'm buying.

You know what? You are exactly right. Perfect analogy. It is just like reading hundreds of posts analyzing and dissecting every scene in a movie I've never seen. Then the movie is finally released in my area and the excitement is gone. I don't need to see it. I have been spoiled.

Theres some peoples pics that are always worth seeing no matter that you already have the figure and are more excited about the next one. But you guys do have a point. Sometimes you have to tune out of a thread. 'Seeing so many pics that you feel like you already have the figure' - indeed, that has been true for me in the case of the 3 Predator figures which I have on hold at Toys2. Theres times I forget I don't actually have Tracker, Shadow and Classic yet.

The reason I have not posted any pics of the batman 89 custom cape yet is because I do not have the figure yet as it is preordered through bbts. I am not guaranteeing anything but the material will hang more realistically and it is a special kind of material. Who knows how long it could take before BBTS gets their shipment in. So until I get the figure I cannot make the cape because I am going to be following the hot toys pattern on their cape.
Can't you drape it over a regular figure just to get an idea and to see the texture on it?

I don't own any figures I sold off everything a long time ago. The only 2 figures I will have will be batman 89 and joker 89. The fabric has texture as it is a higher end fabric called Mole skin. It looks like leather is thin but quite heavy unlike a lot of other fabric I have come across where the cape would just flare outwards.

JOY more tailoring to already perfect design this one will not need a custom ...but always interesting to see other's designs .....
