To be fair, a bit of a shine under the belt from rubbing is normal but a glob isn't.... I just want to know what people are seeing here?

Looks more like oil than a rub to me.

The Penguin looks amazing.

Ok, it's up to everyone to take my posts as they feel fit. Anyone who knows me on here knows that I don't BS. Well not seriously anyway!:lol

These are small pools of oil, not rubs. Look at the back of the belt in that pic. the black area is covered in oil as well. That's just a fact.
Is it unique to the two DX sets that I bought from two different countries a month or so apart? Possibly.

Best of luck with them guys. At least we won't have any problems getting him into the Batmobile next year, as he will be goo from the waist down! Personally I'm going to seal the back of the belts later and hopefully stop the problem in it's tracks. I just hope it doesn't appear in other places where there is plastic contact. Oh and for the records it's very close to where the DX02 issue first reared it's head.
:lol

If my 89 melts I will stick to my pre-release threat and be 100% done with HT.

I said that I'd give Hot Toys one last chance with Batman 1989 and if it started to secrete oil that I wouldn't buy another rubber figure again.

If mine starts to leak or melt or whatever Hot Toys can stick their upcoming Batman Returns Batman, a TDKR Batman or any other rubber figure they come up with up their ass. I won't buy them. This is bull____ when we're paying $200+ for a collectible figure, there's no excuse for it.

I've got another one coming, if it doesn't get here (split shipment, triple shipment, whatever the ____) before the one I have in hand now melts you can bet I'm cancelling.

Here's mine:

Suppose it doesn't prove anything as there are those that would claim I rubbed the oil off...

Mine looks the same as yours. No oil . . . yet. I did notice a few small yellow dot rubs around the midsection from the belt, but nothing else really.

Wow this is harsh, i guess time to start brainstorming a plan for a protective seal/barrier for the belt, mine was ok last i checked.

If it's the belt contacting the rubber on the suit creating the problem, maybe you can seal the back of the belt with some kind of clear primer and see how that works out.

i was thinking the same thing...............like testors dulcote..............i've used it to stop oil based paints from from being sticky & gummed up. as for the long term of it being a fix............:dunno...........but what i used it on is at least 2 years old and dry to the touch.

So from what I just read briefly...the question of why they changed the torso material on the 2nd batch has been answered? It's the DX02 all over again.

Nope. Rory said that BOTH, the first one and the second one (with the harder thing behind the rubber on the lower torso) have oil. I also believe the material didn't change, it's still rubber, there's just some sort of thing underneath between the true type and the suit.

HT really need to invest in developing a material other than rubber to use on such figures. They loot enough money from us to be able to afford it. This is really shocking QC, even if it's a small proportion of the figures, it really shouldn't be showing up on ANY figures.

Was it? What was the answer? I've been here all day and all I've learned is that Batman leaks oil and The Penguin looks amazing.

:(

Well that's just dandy.
