My point is people are going to regret it later..they may sell out soon and then the prices of $400 or more will be upon us just like that. DX Bats and Joker tripled in price within six months it seems.....

Sorry....playing with a new camera & learning its' macro capabilities. :dunno :cuckoo:

Yeah, I'm don't understand how so many posters on these boards are Hot Toys "renters." I can understand selling off part of your collection to change your focus or buying habits (I've done that myself - gone from collecting Batman to collecting all DC characters to collecting just Batman again). But it seems like many guys on these boards always sell a figure when a new one comes out.

If you don't really like it in the first place, why buy it?

And Keaton will stay with me until the end. Even if I fell on horrible financial times, I'd sell everything else in my collection before that figure (and Jack, of course).

Some of us have to live within a budget, and maybe we could only afford one or the other.

Maybe during the time of purchase, no one knew how good the DX 12 would turn out. But when official pics did surface, people finally decided that when given the choice to choose one or the other, they would prefer the DX 12 over the 09.

Case in point: I had to sell off my War Machine in order to purchase TFA Cap. It's not that I didn't like WM (on the contrary, I really loved it, cos' it looked good next to my VI), but since I've budgeted myself to choose one or the other (as they're similarly priced), I decided to go ahead to purchase Cap and sell off WM in order to get some variety in my collection.

That's why I envy some of you who could purchase entire lines (the 7 members of the Avengers, the 3 main characters from TDK, vehicles, exclusives etc.)...you don't have to worry about and resort to this kind of stuff.

Just my point of view though...based purely on my own experience (although I am keeping my DX 09 in spite of getting the DX12).

I'm on a budget, too (I wish I could afford the vehicles). I just don't buy figures if I can't afford them. I understand the idea of selling a figure if one you want more comes out later. I just can't understand doing that for nearly every release. There seems to be an entire breed of collector that does that on these boards.

When I buy something, it's because I want to keep it. Not keep it for a limited time and then sell it in an attempt to make a profit.

yea there're definitely scalpers, but with HT increasing their production sizes and MSRPs, profit seems to be thinning somewhat.

but I believe most of us here on the boards purchase figures to collect them; selling may be a necessity in the future only due to unforeseen circumstances.

I think many here are true diehard collectors. But at the same time, I've never been a part of a message board where scalping is so commonplace and accepted. Every other board I've posted on frowns at scalping, as most see it as a way to hurt the collecting community, rather than help it.

Here's how I look at it... There are some figures that you could never bring yourself to sell. However, there are times when you may be disappointed with the final product of a figure, and can bring yourself to part with it and get something you really like. That should never be the case with the dx08 or the dx09 though.

Yep agreed with both posts!
The DX 09 is just a beauty to behold...truly is a miniaturized version of Keaton Bats. Goes really great with CR Supes besides it.

Much better. For too long now most of your shots had too much blur on the figure itself.

Looks like a still from the film. One could swear it was Keaton himself.

Thanks. However, I like the narrow DOF look as long as the eyes are in focus.

Maglor, did you ever find a good solution for the modified inner cape color?

Not yet. Looking into disperse dyes. The problem is that the cape is made of synthetic material and normal dye doesn't hold.

I know we already PM'd about this, I just wanted to reply in case otherpeople were wondering.

Yep thought about selling others to fund other figures but then checkout others collections and get inspired to keep because in the end will be so thankfull never sold and just buy what i really love ..This collecting is like a huge puzzle and want all my pieces to make one AMAZING DISPLAY....I"ll love forever......

I'll never sell my 89Batman. He was my first <3

What if HT made a version with a Keaton - Bruce Wayne Head sculpt. Would you not "consider" selling this one and getting that instead?

The MK Batman is a keeper. I don't sell anything on anyway - and never have.
I do hope we get the Batman Returns version with a Keaton head sculpt so we can put a MK Bruce Wayne together. I foresee a set of West / Keaton / Bale Bruce Waynes sitting in a display cabinet in front of me !!

Though Adam West was mine, I'll never sell my Keaton Bats because he was my first 'serious' BATMAN. I remember being totally blown away by the "I'm BATMAN!" trailer...and how the majority of the critics suddenly shut up about Keaton directly after it.

This was the BATMAN, the one I'd been waiting for for years!

:lecture

He still is.
