I want all of this behind me. This mad buying, buying, buying. I know I could just stop right now but...but...I can't!!! I need to proceed with my DX13 plans or else all my DX10 stuff will feel moot and my Terminator collection as a whole will feel lopsided. ''Sell some DX10s then''. When I look at them, I can't. There isn't a single one that feels expendable to me.

How many dx10 u got?

Well I only bought 2 complete figures but I updated all my MMSes with DX10 bodies and heads.

It would look like I have 8 DX10s total.

Correction - 9, forgot one.

Pic's or it didn't happen:nana:

I have 3 full box sets, one bashed. Though two box sets are still in the sealed shippers:monkey3

My laziness overpowers my desire to be believed on this matter. :lol

:lol

Well at least name the looks you got displayed:impatient:

Mine are the full cyberdyne minigun and the chip removal scene, other looks are being displayed with other T-800 models.

-T-800 on bike
-Rosebox T-800
-Pescadero escape T-800 (no sunglasses)
-Chip reset T-800
-Uncle Bob (Enrique's camp) T-800 (grey shirt)
-Endo-arm reveal T-800
-Gang goes to Cyberdyne T-800 (carrying bags and gasoline cannister)
-Mini-gun T-800 (Cyberdyne)
-M79 T-800 (Cyberdyne)

Very impressive, your just missing the arrival version:wink1:

He became the 'Gang goes to Cyberdyne' version. I fell out of love with having a naked truetype on the shelf. Even the upper region doesn't look great because of that neck. At least with clothes on there's plenty to distract from it.

Yeah, I only have the one that is the T-800 from salvation, no need for anymore myself.

Honestly as much as the arrival scenes are big parts of the films and the first look we get at the T-800's to me the idea of displaying a naked figure on the shelf is just sort of awkward :lol Not just to myself for having it like that but having to explain (or try to explain) why I have a naked Schwarzenegger figure on the shelf would be a weird conversation.

Nah that wouldn't bother me. If it could look good I'd still do it. The joints just make it look silly though, particularly from the waist down.

That's the other part. I like as little joints showing as possible on my figures. I dunno still though I probably wouldn't display a version like that. It's not particularly interesting either compared with other looks from the films. I don't plan on ever having a big display like it sounds like you have though. Just a couple versions of each: DX10, DX13 (ideally two to utilize both head sculpts and all parts) and the MMS136 tech noir T-800 and hopefully one day a police shootout version. I just have the DX10 and one DX13 on order along with the T-1000 though for the moment.

A more minimalist display is just as legitimate as what I'm doing. Particularly if it allows you to buy from other licenses and put together a really diverse collection. I just decided to stop trying for diversity because I need to get out of this hobby pretty soon. While there's a limit to how many scenes in T1 and T2 I will want to recreate there would be no limit to new characters that would make my collection more varied. So I've dropped the latter for the most part.

There's really no getting out:panic: I have had that thought more than once, I figured after getting the technoir I was good, figured theres nothing that would top it, but here I am still collecting. There's always something to bring you back in, at least for me there is.

For me its not a matter of getting out so much as it is slowing down, not wanting to get a new figure every month like I am now. I need to stick with pre-orders and stop buying to feed the addiction in between PO's:panic:

I think that is what it really comes down too. I, too, have thought about getting out. was very close too it earlier this year when I got hit with a crap load of taxes. Then just made the decision to stick to 2 things I really love Superman and co., and Johnny Depp characters. I do get in between figures from time to time like the Arnold and Sly figures (and Van Dam depending on how the EB figure looks) and transformers, but it is no where near as bad as it used to be in terms of 1/6. Really comes down to being able to say "no, I don't need it" which is a tough thing to do until I start to rationalize things like lack of space and how something will look in the collection

Not quite. This thread was started 16th november last year. By the time we have it in hand it will certainly have been over a year.
