Hair is pretty easy, but the idea of successfully turning a BD head into a normal one is pretty daunting. Not because of the sculpting part, but having to repaint the entire thing to be as good as HT's factory paint. Now there's a challenge. Fixing those hair bits isn't a biggy though, IMO.
I completely agree.
Yeah I like the look of that in particular. At least the profile anyway.

The hair is starting to remind me of another T-800 figure I have :monkey3

I'll take a crack at that mod A-dev. I think I some paint that could mimic that look.

Don't know about the front but I think I can tweak the side like you are referring too.

Man U really need to change that pose. Not sure if he is fighting or is he about to bend and lift his skirt for acknowledging the massive applause for his opera..

I actually like the pose. Looks to me like the T-800 is still trying to put up a fight against a currently superior T-1000.

It makes you wonder why something like the hairline would be missed. Especially from a sculptors eye, someone who would pour over pics of there subject. Its weird.

mms117 still has some fight in him after all these years, agreed the hair is best on the 117:exactly:

"Much to learn you still have"

I kid, in seriousness yeah, the area we're talking about does look to be more accurate on MMS117. Likewise on DX10. I think if they had been sculpting DX13's heads with a view to putting sunglasses on they would have noticed where they went wrong with the hairline. I noticed it regardless because I'm just that @n @l but it became even more apparent when I put the sunnies on. Its a bit frustrating to me to say the least that no single sculpt can seem to get everything right. Shame I can't do it myself. :slap I am probably a bit unreasonable in my expectations of sculptors who have to deal with deadlines and so on.

Would you buy an extra headsculpt for the purpose?

Thanks for posting, a-dev. As awesome as this sculpt is, it could be even better with the hairline adjustment.

Cheers. :hi5:

And chances are if they go again they could correct this but mess up something else that they previously got right. Maybe Difabio has the right attitude, just ****ing leave it! No more! :dunno

The width made me think of….

Exactly. And I don't see how it could be a visual illusion or anything, dead-straight frontal view of the sculpt with the damage pretty seamlessly covered over, it looks symmetrical....just very wide.

Even with the slight hair mod it still looks like the face from eye-level down might be too wide. Thankfully the BD sculpts don't look so much like that in person. The naked eye seems to be more forgiving especially with the battle-damage.

It does make me question how good the sculpt would be as a non-BD though.

Maybe it would help if Hot Toys stopped making such perfectly close to symmetrical shaped hair. There's not even any peaks of light throughout the hair at any angle. Arnie with an afro wig.

Or…

The perfectly solid hair is playing with our perception and causing the head to look even rounder.

:lol

A rare bit of nitpickery from you Vodoun. You're not wrong though. They do seem to have trouble with this hairstyle, 3 attempts now.

Idk if this was posted before, but I kinda like it. Idk how it looks painted or on a body. I still prefer the dx13 even doe I don't have it... Lol

So if HT revisits their T-1000 figure, how would you want him to be? I think it is nearly a perfect figure with lots of extras like a DX without only pers system so I would want him to be something maybe not so articulated but looks amazing:)

Here are my choices:
