:thud: i guess i really don't understand where and why the border lies.
don't know why everybody hates PERS and wishes for painted eyes. DX10 and 13 are my only figures with pers, i like it on both of them. i especially like how natural those eyes are when taken out of the head )))

I don't hate pers, but I prefer painted eyes every time, solid sculpted heads with painted eyes look more realistic, pers is a neat gimick but it creates alot of issues, elongated head shapes, ugly panel hatch, thick eyelids, and also a few other problems like magnets coming loose and pers system breakage. For all that it brings to your pose options it takes away way more than its worth IMO.

i see. eyes might be more natural and nice, but all surrounding parts suffer from construction issues, right?

Sort of yeah, but I still think with painted eyes it blends into the sculpt more naturally to, at 1/6 scale most figures with PERS tend to have thick eyelids so it does not transition well and in certain light can cast weird shadows. I like how they did PERS on the DX13 as it looks pretty good, not so much for the DX10, but both figures would have came out better without it IMO.

It creates elongated head shapes? I dunno about that. I agree with the other points certainly but not particularly that one.

Well said Pete. The DX13 is definitely the exception and the best PERS hs done to date. It actually doesn't bother me at all and kind of glad it has it. I think if all PERS hs are going to look this good, then I don't think many will complain about it going forward.

Don't you know by now never to question me:slap

:lol

I'm refering to the dx10's ape like head shape from the side view, so yeah it does not effect all figures that way, I was just listing off issues from across the board which is not fair I suppose.

Agreed, I love the DX13, without the pers the scanning pose would look like crap, not saying I hate figures with PERS, I just usually prefer most figures not to have it.

Ah. Well you know me, I don't miss an opportunity to criticise the MMS117 or DX10 heads. I just wouldn't have referred to 'elongation' because, in the sense that I would mean such a thing, I would be referring to the frontal view and the MMS sculpt was too squat, I felt that DX10 corrected that if anything. But the ape-like cranium in the profile view, well you know I agree with that.

I think it's a case by case for me now. With the new T1 figure, I don't see the need for PERS at all. He will be wearing the Gargoyles for the PS look. They do need to have an Endo eye switch for those sculpts, so I'm guessing the back of the hair will pop off similar to a PERS hatch. Hopefully they do a good job hiding the seam.

:lol True, and I get where your coming from with the mms117 sculpt, your not wrong at all and its showing its age more than ever with the release of the dx10-dx13 and now the new T1 BD figure, its heading to the point where soon it will be un-displayable:panic:

It really is a case by case thing now, especially after the dx13, I can't cast general digs at all figures with pers cause a lot of them are killer.
