And I'll admit it, the idea of a coffin filled with weapons and the Terminator is pretty cool.

Other than that though, the T-850 sucks.

I do love that wide eyed expression he gives in the truck though to Kate Brewster. "RELAX"

Like Khev said, if it isn't made by Cameron, it doesn't exist and is fan fiction. Well, except for T2:3D attraction Cameron created and shot, that doesn't count either. Pretty fun attraction though.

I never attended it but I remember watching a Making Of documentary about it. At one point I remember Arnold telling Furlong, "Come on, let's bust a move!" and knew instantly it was something I could absolutely ignore. :lol

That being said I believe you agree with me that as much as I like T2 I don't really count it as "canon" when I'm watching T1. T1 is just too perfect of a self-looping time story. So I consider there to be two versions of the story: "The Terminator" and "T1 + T2." Each have merit.

I actually found T3 to be surprisingly entertaining when I first saw it but man did that feeling not last long. Anything Terminator related not directed by Cameron is just fan-fiction to me.

Isn't that the truth. Well for me as well anyway. T3 never happened :D

It's actually a great little show. I don't think of it as any sort of canon, but as an effects attraction, it really is nice. I quite enjoyed it.

If you ever go to Universal Studios, I'd hit it up.

Yeah, same here. I probably even said that before on here. The first Terminator seems pretty self contained while Judgment Day is a great compliment and continuation. Not of the first film per se, but a nice alternate Terminator story. I'm not sure which one I like better though.

Of course, we can find these nits if we look for them. But Cameron said early on that you have to take a lot of the stuff in these things with a grain of salt. The fact is, he makes them realistic enough that the audience isn't sitting there questioning things constantly as the movie progresses. What happens makes sense in the universe that he has constructed. We come along for the ride, and enjoy it because the films are really masterfully crafted (T1 and T2, that is). But the most basic premise of T1 is pretty odd--you send an infiltration robot disguised as a human, yet have him look like Mr. Universe so that there is no way he would really go unnoticed. But it is for the good of the movie, so we roll with it.

The problem with movies like the Star Wars prequels is that the unnatural behaviors, logical inconsistencies, etc. work in such a way that viewers are taken out of the film and can't enjoy it. Cameron doesn't make that mistake.

Oh, I agree with you. It's just fun to pick out little inconsistencies like that and talk about them. :)

It always bothers me when the T-1000 stabs Sarah and tells her to call to John. Why doesn't he just do it?!? He could just kill her and imitate her.

...and actually he did it later. (imitating, not killing)
is he sadistic then? did he need to break her rather than call to John? does he truly have emotions, and hate to Connors among them? :D
or it is quite the opposite. he doesn't have emotions and cannot show them well. remember that Jenell fake voice :) so to lure John he needed a true frightened/panicking call. later, when he tried to do that himself, it was same fake intonations as with Jenell.

Yep, you don't instantly see the naked T-1000 and say, "hey, that liquid metal terminator is not surrounded by living tissue! How did he appear!??" You don't even think about that until the second, third, or 10th time you watch the movie. I always say if it takes 20 viewings for me to notice a pretty glaring mistake then the director has done his/her job.
you should not think about it ever as a mistake because there is no mistake there.

T-1000 is either already mimicking flesh (he does have appearance - it must be copied from alive person in 2029 - he knows what a human and his flesh are) or just generates "the proper field".

You go naked. Something about the
field generated by a living organism.

- Nothing dead will go.
- Why?

I didn't build the ****ing thing.

Some truly awkward parts aside, it's a fantastic attraction.

I like how the T-850 is a complete ass to John Connor. :lol

And I would buy a HT T-850 in a instant.

PERFECT PERFECT

but i still hope that if i paint flesh on left palm into black, it will look like a torn glove, metal arm under it and no flesh.

p.s. still cannot understand if the endoeye can move with the human eye.

I'm gonna guess not. Sounds like a recipe for malfunction.

Endo eye never moved with normal eye in the movie...
when he looked up while being melt, he did it with both eyes. no?

anyway, what i meant is that i cannot understand that from promo photos. sometimes it seems the eye follows another one, sometimes it seems they just took exact angles to hide that it cannot move.

One thing I don't get is why the T-800 doesn't know what crying and smiling are. Surely such basic stuff has got to be covered by his 'detailed files'. Presumably he knows about human tear ducts and their function for keeping the eyes wet etc. So WTF?!!

I would have had him just not understand why John was crying or in what situations to smile.
I'm a bit late to the chat, but that's an excellent point! :lol

As you guys have mentioned though, there's always going to be things like that in films to single out.

The main things is, the film as a whole makes up for such anomalies in awesomeness. :D
