I am hoping they are keeping quiet and will shock us all with a Penguin and Catwoman. Batman on his own is pointless.

Some people will only buy the Batman though - that's why the '89 Batman is fetching high prices and the Joker isn't.

Yeah, Joker is barely going above retail. HT must have overproduced him and there just isn't the demand like there is for Keaton, especially in markets outside of NA and Europe.

Possibly - or maybe the demand just isn't there outside of a core group of fans. And that's why we're not seeing Penguin and Catwoman.

Restricting yourself to Batman figures only is a very seductive idea, it simplifies collecting and allows you to sell off anything else so you can buy more stuff... I'm flirting with it myself.

I'm seconding that notion also, especially with the new marvel movie line up. Too many iron mans, avengers and filler characters in between. I should just stick to what got me in HT in the first place which was 1989 batman

Just wondered how people saw this suit being made - one piece rubber? Fabric with armour sewn on? I've been put off from buying the '89 Bats by the apparent lack of articulation, would be definitely up for the Returns version is the articulation was good.

I love the smooth look it has in these pics, the '89 suit looks grainier somehow.

Sorry guys, right now HT must have forgotten about Batman Returns soon as they heard of the new details regarding Batman v Superman:

There are two Batsuits (we’ve seen them both before — he has a traditional Batsuit, and an armored Batsuit like in “The Dark Knight Returns”).
The armored suit has Kryptonite all over it, and it can shoot missiles.
There are two Batmobiles.

Iron Batman is MONEY.

I'm as excited for Star Wars OT figures as the next man. But this is the Batman Returns thread, take your enthusiasm elsewhere. I want Catwoman.
You just wait till the next time you're up to your knees in commissions.[emoji34] You thought last time was bad. I will haunt your thread. [emoji48]

As much as I would love to have this returns figure (I have all Batman HT figures at this point apart from mime Joker) I think it will be pointless without Penguin and Catwoman.

Have 1989 with Joker is a match made in heaven.

Being OCD, having just a Returns Batman displayed on his own will simply drive me crazy.

I plan on posing him next to Mime Joker. Two Keatons, two Nicholsons = works for me.

I'm surprised there is no PO for this yet. I would have figured it would have gone up when Arkham Batman went up. I wonder what the hold up is.

*Cough, Star Wars, cough, Marvel.* I mean, I'm looking forward to figures from those properties as well, but sometimes it seems like a zero sum game with HT.

I'll say it now, as God as my witness. Mime Joker is better than the standard Nicholson Joker. Mime Joker just looks creepy.

Surely at some point the superhero bubble's going to burst? There'll be so many of these damn movies that they will stop being events, a bit like summer blockbusters in general a few years back. That will have knock on effects for the hobby... maybe then older properties will seem more attractive and special.

Fat chance that will ever happen. People on here as well as the public are mindless. They just latch on to whatever they think everyone else likes. Kinda like Michael Bay movies. No one likes them, but because they are popular people mindlessly say they like them to try and fit in. Being a fan nowadays is now about how someone appears to be or being cool with the collective, rather then just doing something you enjoy. This is the main reason I would never share my collection in a public forum. I actually think about what I want to buy.

I can't wait for the day when Marvel comes out with Avengers number 10 titled: Avengers: Why are we still making these? and Hot Toys and the serfdom masses will clamor for product from the movie.

I think that high-end action figures are enough of a niche market that they'll be unaffected by the superhero bubble bursting.

The movies will become less popular as the general public becomes disenchanted with them, but the intense fans with money to spend will always be intense fans with money to spend. There never were, and never will be, that many of them - but there doesn't have to be.

Well, comics have been telling stories for decades. People still like them. Super hero movies have a lot of material to draw from. Just because they're super hero movies is irrelevant. If they're good movies people will like them.

Good point but don't these movies tend to get tired after the third one? Bond is pretty much the only exception to that rule (and there have been plenty of tired Bond movies).

Off-topic but I realised today that MoS is as much of a remake of the Donner movies as Superman Returns. So many sequences lifted or inspired by the two Donner movies, from hitchhiking to the North Pole to dealing with a loud-mouthed trucker to the army taking on super-villains in small town America. What it really needed was not a respectful reboot but something as radically different as the much-hated JJ Abrams treatment.

When i see the form that takes this returns line, i can't refrain myself to think that we won't see anything, even Batman. Maybe the proto saw at SDCC this year didn't have a great success, so they decided to break the business...
I prefer not thinking at Batman Returns anymore. I'm very desapointed. But when i draw up the balance and think at HT behavior i say to myself that we are so lucky that DX09, DX08 and the Batmobile had seen the light of day! I'm so happy with them!
But if one day something goes out from this BR Line, it would be a great extra!
