Yeah don't forget about crybaby :lecture

One thing I would point to about the delay is that they rushed a proto to show and have for the 75th batman exhibits and functions. Take advantage of the free press. Let folks know the figure is coming, even if it wasn't right away. They may of had their production schedule layed out for a year or more and returns Batman was way down the list but because of the 75th stuff they showed the proto. But the back end (production stuff) is not something you can easily change.

Good point, in fact it makes far too much sense for this thread.

Doesn't matter much, we will get them ALL. Eff Batman. It's what the people want. It's what the people deserve. ;)

You mean to say...

Little kid asks: Why are we getting not getting the Batman Returns Keaton Hot Toys figure?

Gordon: Because its the figure the fans deserve, but not the one they need right now...

I'm starting to think that this has been cancelled for some reason.

God damn it, why show a prototype and then just act like it never happened.

That'd be funny if it was cancelled because than that means Hot Toys blew it and wasted their money.

Money to obtain the license, wasted. Money to put together R&D for that prototype, wasted. Money for the actual prototype shown at the con/shows during the summer, wasted. Money lost from all the potential buyers that would have snatched up atleast Batman, wasted. :lol

Who knows, if Hot Toys was telling the truth years back during that QnA, there may have very well been a Penguin that they poured $$$ into for nothing.

I'm still hoping we see this but how long can you hope for? Prototypes get made and canned all the time (Rorschach, Xavier) for whatever reason - poor sales of an earlier figure (Mime Joker, check) different priorities (Star Wars, check). Star Wars in particular seems to have changed everything.

Don't forget if this was announced tomorrow (which would be brilliant) this wouldn't be released until next autumn or winter, when Star Wars will dominate everything. If I was in their shoes I'd throw everything into putting Star Wars product out there ready for a time when new buyers will be flooding into the market. It's not as if they don't have a big pile of other vintage stuff to release (Commando, Sleepy Hollow) which uses the likeness rights of actors with a larger fan base than Keaton.

They just don't need to release this anytime soon, and if DX is dead as some say they never will. That said, I'll lose my **** if this goes up for PO tomorrow and I had the chance to get Burton Batman at retail, with an extra body to pose the hell out of.

If December and January come and go with nothing, then I'll worry (actually I'll be rip-roarin' pissed off, but I'm trying to stay positive). Let's hope it doesn't get to that point though. :lol

Thing is, Batman by himself would be a way better seller than John Matrix or Ichabod Crane. Possibly even better than Chewbacca and Han Solo. :lol

DX 09 sold well and demands a high price on the secondary market. EVERY Batman Hot Toys has done, save for the recent Armory version (and possibly the fat boi Arkham), sells like hot cakes. People are losing their **** over not being able to get the 7" NECA '89 Batman and Warner Bros. Toys R Us and NECA are trying to meet demand. There's clearly a market for another Keaton Bats. Having an armored version with a possible Bruce Wayne portrait that everyone was begging for when DX 09 was released? Guaranteed success.

It feels like it should be 2014, especially this month, but it won't be. Hot Toys is nuts. I could see them scrapping Catwoman and Penguin because, let's face it, they're risky business (though, depending on how well Catwoman turned out, I think people would go nuts over it and it'd sell better than TDKR Catwoman), but Batman? Batman is a no brainer. It'd essentially be a DX 09 2.0.

That Christmas quote/tag line Hot Toys used from Iron Man 3 was tacky as hell too.

If you're going to do that cute crap, atleast do it with the most Christmas-y license you have (or maybe had?).
