Hot Toys DX15 Captain Jack Sparrow (Dead Men Tell No Tales)

I know not everyone is gonna want to use the special stand for this, me included, so I'm wondering if either one of these wood plank stands would be something people would want for Jack.

I still have to get the POTC plaques on them but here's two different colors I was playing around with. I think the darker one might work better for the Pearl deck but the lighter one has more character.

I would probably get one of those for my DX06. I agree a little more weathering to make it look like the deck of The Pearl.

No, the new one looks like Depp, the other doesn't! The DX06 looks like a more handsome cosplayer to me.

I'd be VERY interested in one of those stands for my DX15, Coco, but I remember the shipping quote from the States that you gave me for your R2-D2/C-3PO stand killed the deal for me!! What would I be looking at for shipping these days - $15 perhaps?

I’m almost positive the sculpt is the same just updated paint apps. Even creases are the same on the smirking one. HT made the hat look more like sombrero. Definitely too wide on top. I’ll get this as I have the DX06 too.

+1 I like the DX06 but in these pictures, with this lighting, that doesnt look like Depp to me, more like a cosplayer with a heap of botox. By comparison the DX15 face looks real, it has life in it, with even finer hair and paint on his chest id think that was Depp for real

Impressive, but I would suggest if possible, paint one with spatters of black like the wood got burnt to get the look of the Pearl deck.

I'm gonna have to find some clear pics of the Pearl to see if I can match that look.

How much for the custom stands? Looking good.

I still need to figure that out. Those are the first and only two I've made so far.

Whats crazy is that this figure is over $120 more than the original DX06 which I purchased for $220 CAN when release. The DX15 is $342 CAN + shipping.

DX15 is average $478 CAN here in the UK at £270, i feel lucky to have "only" paid £240, but i think hes worth it, the quality of the base and figure are awesome!

I will always remember the day i PO him a year ago as the day i finally caught Captain Jack Sparrow!

The cosplayer was the Enterbay version. The DX06 is just 6 years old.

The differences should be subtle considering they’re both meant to be the same person, Johnny Depp making a specific face in real life will always look the same but for small details that come with age or changes in weight.

DX15 certainly doesn’t look like Depp back in Curse, but HT definitely refined it enough where his Pirates 5 aging isn’t captured in exact detail so this figure can serve as an idealized Jack.

I’m eager to get the coat in hand, so far I’m hopeful the color is close enough I won’t have to customize like DX06, but I was tricked by photos of DX06 when he came out so I trust nothing but in hand.

definitely not the same sculpt. Lips, mustache and chin a distinctly wrong on the dx06 (pretty much entire bottom half are different to say the least)

I beg to differ. Have you had the enterybay one? It's definitely the best smirking sculpt there is next to the Dx15. If I was on my home laptop I'd post a pic of my custom COTBP in which I used that sculpt. Paint work is also much better than the HT

yup I'm very glad HT finally got the lining right on this one. The texture/material looks more accurate as well it's just the color is still off.

Yeah, DX15 looks older and heavier, like he looks in Pirates 5.

DX 6 looks younger... too young for Pirates 4, but close to COTBP. People forget how different he looked in the first film.

Just a quick pose! Just about fits in my cabinet Pictures are from iPhone so not great.

Only complaint is small regarding the name plate - No cover so it's been scratched a fair bit not a massive issue though.
