I guess I'm frustrated because when I discovered that Hot Toys existed (not that long ago) I was struck by how much their figures seemed to be like actual movie animation macquettes. Having a slight background in animation, I was struck by the extreme detail and faithfulness to the source material, combined with the massive range of possible poses. I could imagine Ray Harryhausen using these toys to make films in the 1960's!
The idea of the original Giger Alien being available in that sort of quality format is what has me salivating, so it's really frustrating that they're saying "Hey, you know what? I reckon it would look better if the eyes were like, angry..." and so on. I don't mind if it's not exactly right, but at least honour the source material.
