I find it peculiar that 'lighting' can make something appear a completely different colour than it actually is. Anyway, we'll wait and see.

I still worry that the jaw articulation is going to compromise the mouth area as it did on the dog Alien. Would anyone massively complain if the tongue feature was removed entirely so the creatures face could look right?

1- Is that the final product that you have shown?

A- Shape of eye sockets
>>> Will check

B- Colour- too brown need to be greyer/blacker
>>> I've seen the proto, it is grey/black, no brown at all, it's because of the lighting.

C- Shape of mouth is too open when relaxed.
>>> this is just the prototype, the articulation is still under development!

So, it looks like we can reast assured that it's being worked on!

Hmmmmm, we'll see!

But as much as I like to have to have plenty of articulation, the scale and sculpt are so similar on the Medi to the Sega one I already have that I may still skip it ,unless I get an offer I can't refuse!

I wouldn't miss it. I never pose any Aliens I own with the inner jaw sticking out, and I much prefer the closed, "grinning" look.

That said, if the ickle Kubrick can have both, why not something in a larger scale?

Amazing really that this little fella is truer to Giger's original!

I'm actually thinking of removing the tongue from my Medicom Alien, so that it can have its jaw tightly shut.

Nice to know this is still a work in progress... still even if this was the final product I'd still buy and be happy with it. But there is definitely room for improvement as Devil's mods show.

I wouldn't mind, but I also think it's too early to let HT off the hook. At over $150 (I assume), you'd think they provide an accurate mouth with articulation.

But again, if I had to choose between the two I'd say loose the articulation.

Yeah, I could live w/o the articulation for his mouth. Its a fun gimmick, but I never display them with the inner mouth out for fear of damaging the rubber of the jaw.

Or they could just add a switch-out mouth like the Preds.

I mean - why not? They do it with loads of the other MM figures. They could, if they wanted, give us the ultimate Alien figure, with the hero head, stunt head etc. It does gall me that we're all feeling grateful for a stand, when we should be getting so much more.

i find this happens when shots are lit by flash. the camera flash can be deceptive. in certain photos of the tdk batman, parts of his armour look blue. but in person, it's clearly black & dark grey. my guess is it's something to do with the paint compound, it probably reflects a particular part of the light spectrum of the flash.

I don't, I tried to show people how much a difference it made with Wolverine compared to the official photo HT had taken, his black hair was quite brown, his dark jackey very light, and everything had an orange/brown tint.

Photographs can easily be untrue in color unless you take software to color correct it later.

How can this be surprising... happens all the time with figures. First images are typically washed out, or under odd lighting/camera settings. I admit the gray to brown is a bit much, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is some color distortion.

One of the worst poses Palisades could have come up with. It looks like it's sneezing. I want to see acid snot shooting out through its face dome.

As per Hot Toys replies:
I bet that was the final piece, but they read all of our hateblogs and said, "Damn it! Here we go again. Lets start reworking it. Our creative license failed us again."

We'll see at Comic Con I bet whether or not it's really brown, or if it is the lighting like they say.

As a huge Alien fan I look at this new HT Alien and just shake my head. I've seen really cool artist takes on this guy but if you do the human figures to look like the movie why not the star too. Our Alien figure at NECA came out about 95% where I wanted it to be. Yes the paint can be better and a few other things but why try to change something so cool to begain with and not get sculptor X take on it. We had to make something that would sell for 40 dollars and I think you get a way better figure and only pay 40 dollars. Giger did a masterpiece monster and for 150 dollars this should really feel like the Alien. I would love to want to buy it and I have 4 HT figures and I like them a lot but they don't seem to not care at all about doing to the Alien what they do with many other movie and video game figures. That is making them accurate and why not Alien? After all the Alien is one the best designs ever and I think what could have been.

I'm thinking about a HT Queen and it will not be something I look forward to seeing. It will be cool looking but not what myself and many others would want and that's a great movie accurate classic monster figure of the Queen. I'm wondering how much it will cost too.

I don't think anyone cares, in fact the vibe I get is they either make the changes or a lot of folks aren't even going to by it at all.
