Thanks. But what if the belt holes are .5mm...? :D

1mm will be fine (most of HT's belt holes seem to be around 1mm,) especially on the broader Imperial style belt.

You can get 0.5mm punches, but they usually cost a bit more because they are finer manufacturing.

You forgot the quote of what Tarkin is saying in this pic.

"You will now witness the full power of my Vader.

Sick em Vader !"
OK, now thats weird. I sent this photo to my mate and he replied with the exact bloody response!!!! HAHA!

I didn't even notice the details on the belt. HT put three discs as opposed to belt holes? I suppose that seemed like the obvious answer as to what they likely were that they just had to be something else in HT's mind. I mean, why would there be adjustment holes on one side of a belt buckle? :lol

I personally prefer the chest box on the MMS279 Vader. The dials on the R1 chest box (chest box they used on ANH 2.0 Vader) are too spaced out for ANH Vader.
It's not that they're too spaced out but under scaled..too small. The buttons/slots from ANH + size of box from R1 would have been near perfect...but it's always a case of one step forward and two steps back with HT...View attachment 389107

I'd have to agree. After reviewing both chest boxes I realized the same thing. In the end, the ANH box is better for ANH Vader despite its slightly smaller size. Besides the correct scale on those silver slots, the color of the darker gray buttons is also better.

I'd agree with this also.

I looked at some pictures of ANH Vader from the film and the box as a whole does look larger than the MMS279 box and more the size of the R1 box, but the dials on the R1 box are undersized as you mentioned and consequently, make them look a bit too spaced out. While the dials on the MMS279 look to be the correct size, they look like they're slightly too crammed because of the smaller box. However, to my eye, the MMS279 box looks to be the more accurate one of the two because the dials don't look as crammed as much as the dials on the R1 box look spaced out.

Of course though like you said, it's one step forward and two steps backward. The size and color of the gadgets on the MMS279 box on the size of the R1 box would make for the perfect ANH chest box.

The MMS279 overall at a quick glance may seem more correct, but the size sinks it for me - I notice it every time I see the fig. Besides the too-small size, it has a number of errors - for example, the raised border/ridge around the red/green buttons shouldn't be there, and the red/green buttons are vertically centralized in relation to the coin slots, when they should be slightly off center vertically - as seen on the RO version.

If you take a closer look at the RO version, you'll see that the coin slots are (despite the silver part being too vertically narrow overall) actually the correct spacing if you just focus on the black slots themselves - what they need is more "surround"; a silver rectangle spray painted around them to visually expand them a bit - I'm going to mask rectangles and spray over the top of the whole thing to make a silver base rectangle. As-is, there is no silver rectangular base at all. Both the ANH and RO lower vertical "toggle switches" seem a little off - too narrow/skinny - so I'm widening the RO ones with some styrene.

Here's some pics of the HT RO box next to the costume's box to show the coin slot spacing:

Wow, TaliBane.

So this Vader with Tarkin is the most accurate ANH Vader HT have released?

So far I guess. It's still unclear how the HT ESB Vader helmet sculpt is going to play out, because HT tweaked their ANH sculpt just before release. But yeah - this one has the very nice RO sculpted gloves (that were $$ to buy on eBay) over the awful ANH pleather/plastic ones. In regards to the chest box, the ANH one is probably better if you don't mind the too-small thing and don't want to (or can't) mod the more correctly sized RO version. Without modding, the RO chestbox does look a little funky, but fully modded I feel like it can look close to 100% accurate.

I'm not 100% sure on which cape this Vader comes with - I love the RO one, but have never held the ANH one. With the pleats futzed out, I really like the RO inner robe more than the ANH one which has wiring in the seams. Obviously the RO codpiece is like a hemorroid pillow though.
