Dammit! I knew it.

Great pictures.

Great photos matrix69!! :clap :rock
:duff

...and the mold seam on the head/hair that Wor-gar pointed out and which I can't unsee.:gah::lol

Great pics. It's a lovely figure. I do wish the sleeves were a few mm's longer to cover the white cuffs a little more in bent-arm poses, but a minor nit.

I need to get my ANH Vader put together and finished for this guy.
Yeah sleeves could have been a tad longer

I like the red lenses on the Vader in your last pic. Is that how the new Vader comes or did you alter it?
That's the original ANH version which i modified

Matrix, any white collar under the olive collar?

Yeah, there is a white collar, but it's super tight in that area. Not sure how easy it would be to futz it a bit higher (seems like its a couple of mm below the line of the olive collar.)

HT just can't paint hair very well...they either go too dark or in this case get it completely wrong...
Cushing was a 'silver fox' in SW....all those pics where it looks to be greyish brown are just from studio lighting.
These shots are more accurate...but better still is just watching him on nice shiney Blu ray..

If you look at the screenshots, it varies quite a bit and really comes down to lighting which is often very harsh, and worse still, a harsh backlight that creates the "white halo" effect (as seen in top right pic below where he looks very grey.) If you look at the lower two pics, the hair color can appear different, even sometimes within the same shot depending on where he's looking...

The one on the top left seems like it's the most moderate "true" lighting, therefore probably the truest depiction of color. Seems like it is mostly brown, but greying on the temples and the side comb-backs, but again - I think he dyed his hair so you get that weird grey look in certain lighting, brown in others effect.

My dad dyed his hair and you can see the effect in family photos where he's more grey in pics from outdoors (in harsh sunlight especially) vs looking more brown indoor.

Some period Tarkin promo pics really look almost fully brown, though these may have been retouched (and ANH promo pics tend to also be very contrasty, making things look darker than they are):

I think it's just down to lazy homework....using poor and inaccurate reference material...

Luke had metallic copper colored hair and Han had jet-black hair, and in TFA Han had gold hair. They got all those right.:dunno:lol

I'm probably going to brush in some grey at the temples and lightly on the comb-back sides and leave it at that. Fortunately adding grey shouldn't be too tough - stuff like repainting Luke's copper-top hair to be more brown-blond is much tougher job.

There's no white collar or shirt underneath....only a padded vest

Did you remove the jacket? If I pull away the olive collar on mine I can just see the top of a white collar just below/inside, but I can't reveal it enough to confirm it's part of a collared shirt (that's what it looks like though) because the olive collar is so tight. Maybe what I'm seeing is a collar-like top to a white padded vest, or a white lining inside the olive collar.

Hard to tell if the white collar I can see is loose enough to futz it up to become visible. I don't want to take the jacket off or mess with it too much because its so closely tailored. Definitely a ring of white visible though.
