I think it's do-able. Here's a mock-up:

It's not that much lower to be accurate.. I think there's enough room.

S2 seems like a good fit for RDJ. (read your post on onesixth.) BTW, is triad's up coming eva male body related to S2? some of the joint design (the hip joint especially) looks very similar.

I think Soldier Story may have more or less stolen some parts from Triad's body (they where going to produce Triad's body but something went bad between them). I don't know exactly what went down but that's why there's similarities.

I have been watching the Iron Man DVD again recently and come to the conclusion that people saying that he is too lean are right and wrong.

Keep in mind that there are essentially two Iron Man in the movie. The actual prop with the suit actor inside and the CGI Iron Man.

The suit actor Iron Man do have a bigger waist, and that Iron Man looks a little fatter and 'plump' because there is actually a person inside all those armour.

The CGI Iron Man on the other hand looks leaner, taller and have a more hero body build, just like the HT Iron Man.

So I guess HT made this figure based on the CGI model and that's why we are getting a more hero learner build Iron Man.

I bet if HT actually made one based on the suit actor, we will be getting comments like Iron Man too squat or need to shave off those cheeseburgers.

You are absolutely right and from the pictures of the CGI Iron Man that dedguy posted a page back you can see that the Hot Toy's Iron Man is spot on.

The packaging is, of course, fantastic, although since I always bin mine it's not that important to me. But, a nice box to open and packaging junkies will adore it. It's not just the heart thing which is great, but the heaviness of the card used which gives it such a luxurious feel.

Silly not enough characters thing.

I imagine the Mark II will be coming out within a month or two, but I hope the Mark I doesn't get delayed like the Mark III did. I'm really looking forward to that one too.

I'm personally glad they went with the CG Ironman if for no other reason than most of the time on film, it's the CG Ironman. Even when you see Stark's face in the suit, it's still a CGI suit comped together with live footage.

********* guys!
You're making me want to buy one! :lol

Seriously, what a fantastic figure.
I truly can't see anything topping this for figure of the year, it's simply too awesome.
Unless of course HT release a fully accurate Alien with incredible poseability, hidden joints, metal teeth, translucent lips and drool function! :lol

This Iron Man line truly epitomizes just how far the engineering of our toys has come. If you really stop to think about it, it is mind-blowing.

My hat's off to Hot Toys. Again.

To anyone who owns this, are the joints tight?, specially the legs? and if so, can you pose them will well

not to rain on the ironman parade, (and i am not directing this question to you Abake, it just a question in general.) but I am a bit confused as to how this iron man is an engineering marvel? since its not a traditional 1/6 figure (base body + suit), the design is similar to many robot toys/model kits that have come before, I don't really see much that's ground breaking or an engineering marvel
