Anyone notice how tall the soldier to Zod's right is in the trailers? He's gotta be 7' at least. I wonder if that's supposed to be Non.
As far as figures I wonder if there will be more beyond Superman, Zod and Zor-El. Maybe Faora or Lara. I couldn't imagine a Lois. Perry White would be a pretty easy bash with a Predator's Nolan head and a fat suit.

I'd still like to see a Terrance Stamp Zod from Superman II, and always thought Ursa (Sarah Douglas) was quite deliciously evil sexy.

It's just the name of the ship that Zod and the Kryptonian army arrive in to destroy Kal-El.

Mostly from Lego sets, where one of the sets is Escape From Black Zero and watching the trailers and tv spots you can tie two and two together and see Lois using the same exact thing as seen on the Lego Set...

Ahh cool, thanks for the info guys. I gathered people must have heard it somewhere but didn't know where.

Black Zero was also a character from the comics that came after the death of superman.
But it was a clone of Superman. Not a spaceship.

Haha you're correct but you are just confusing him now. In this movie black zero is indeed the prison ship zod invades earth with.

On another note, major fail on HT/Sideshows part by not releasing more images. You know they have a full figure complete and ready to show us and are deliberately holding it back. They have mastered the art of **** teasing, which leads me to believe that the director of marketing is a former stripper.

Mmmm. Stripper...

Dudes name is Namex. Close to non but it could be a nod. Saw him at target in their exclusive 5 pack.

Haha, no that's cool. Interesting to get little bits of info like that. In fact it kind of rings a bell now actually, the idea of a character called Black Zero, but I've not actually read Death of Superman, although I've been meaning to pick it up for the last couple of years. Just never get around to it.

Had no idea that the ship in the movie was called Black Zero though, so its actually a prison? And I assume that's where Zod and the others are then as opposed to the phantom zone.

Someone on another forum was talking about whether or not there would be a mild mannered, bumbling Clark Kent in this movie. We've seen longshoreman Clark and kid Clark but not reporter Clark, which could show up at the end of the movie as a setup for the sequel. It's also possible they might have Superman go to more extreme measures to alter the appearance of secret identity (which might not even be a mild mannered reporter, who knows), since they are going for a real world solution, and a suit and glasses are a bit 1940s.
I would like to see if Cavill will try to pull off bookish, dorky Clark. He's built like a world class athlete, and has chiseled features. But the same thing could be said of Chris Reeve. However, that was one thing that Reeve was able to pull off extremely well--convincingly playing both sides of the character (far better than Routh, who was essentially directed by Singer to "ape" Reeve).

This clip nicely shows off the transformation.

and of course, the big reveal to Lois... with a little surprise at the end by whoever cut this clip :)

When they finally got together, it almost felt like Lois was cheating on Clark with Superman... the hussy.

Completely disagree. I prefer the George Reeves version of Kent. Or Welling. Reeve's Kent is probably dead last on my list of Clark Kent performances. Kent should be mild-mannered and unassuming ... not goofy and klutzy. He's a reporter and a farmboy ... not an idiot. It also makes no sense to anybody who knows him from Smallville ... because he wasn't a klutz before he left.

Part of the problem is the relationship with Lois. If Kent is goofy, Lois is typically obnoxious to him -- because the joke is that he swoons around her, but she's out of his league. It sets up a strange relationship between her and Superman ... because why would Superman be interested in a broad that's so awful to him when there's no \S/ on his chest.

I thought Reeve's interpretation of Kent was the worst part of his movies.

Pretty sure Daily Planet Clark with the glasses will show up at some point. Whether he shows up in the middle of the movie or at the end is anyone's guess, but it seems all but confirmed now. There's a company that's making glasses based off the ones used in the film and also in the SDCC trailer he was shown getting into an elevator and putting the glasses on.

Also, if DP Clark does have screen time and isn't just teased at the end I'd be very surprised if he was playing the bumbling, dorky Clark the way Reeve did. There's more then one way to play it and I'm pretty sure they're going to be going for something that doesn't call back to the Reeve portrayal.

Interesting. I doubt they will go for bumbling Kent. I'd guess they tested a few different approaches. Each Superman/Kent has essentially been a product of the era. He was a newspaper man in the 40s/50s and could blend in by simply being low key. In the 70s/80s movies newspaper reporting was still pretty big, and the comics as I recall he was the weakling playing against type and would do klutzy things as Clark Kent and teenage Clark/Superboy. I don't really know how he was handled in the 90s and 2000 in the comics, but I know he was essentially normal in Smallville. Anyway, Reeve was a near perfect Superman/Clark for the times IMO. Which is why his portrayal is still iconic today. I think the updated version will also amaze.

Edit: Looks like he will be playing Clark the reporter early on.

If you're referring to the picture as evidence Daily Planet Clark will appear early on that's a fan manip.

Sorry but I just gotta correct you on this. I'm a longshoreman and there is nothing in the trailers to suggest he is a crane operator like Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds or operates heavy machinery on a dock or at port of one of the local shipping terminals. That's what a longshoreman does. It looks to me, from the trailers I've seen, he's a deep sea fisherman, merchant marine, or an oil rig worker.

Just a technicality. Continue discussion. Kent's alter ego will most likely be an after thought once the earth is out of danger and he has to go back to a somewhat normal life. Though from what we've seen his life doesn't seem so "normal".
