I'm in for Supes, Jor-El, and hopefully the General and Faora.

I think we would be extremely lucky to get those last two. You would think they would be no brainers, but given Hot Toys' track record for wacky choices, and incomplete lines, I'm cautiously optimistic.

NO FATBURN! Those OCD enough to want a Perry White can bash him if they wish.:nana:

I think the enthusiasm is based on the comment on the last page that this is one of Hot Toy's key lines this year. But we'll see. Seems like the reception to the movie might have a lot to do with it.

Eh I haven't actually gotten past 2 lol people say the rest are awful

Superman III has a couple of cool moments. I liked Lana Lang better than Lois. The Smallville stuff was cool. And the 'evil Superman' thing was awesome. It isn't nearly as bad as IV. But, I watched that one a bunch when I was a kid, so its got some nostalgia for me.

Superman IV is a crime against humanity. Too political. Too preachy. Effects were stupid, and not even thought out (Superman flew into space with Muriel Hemingway, and her eyeballs remained in her head).

I'm gonna watch Superman Returns again in the near future. Haven't seen it in a while. It was too boring and knocked-off Donner too much. No Super-villain. No Super fights. The story just wasn't good. It had some cool stuff in it, though -- the plane scene was cool, the bullet-to-the-eye, the car-catch, etc. The casting was actually fine, except for Lois. Liked Spacey's Luthor. Liked Routh's Clark/Superman. Liked Perry White, Jimmy Olsen. Bosworth's Lois Lane was awful, though. And, the kid plot never should've happened.

To me, there hasn't been a perfect Superman movie yet. Superman I and II had some great stuff ... but even those had some junk in there. The ending of 1 wasn't good at all. Lex Luthor was terribly miscast and not nearly threatening enough. It was like Superman vs. a literal used car salesman. Lois Lane was obnoxious ... still can't figure out why Superman wanted to date a woman that was such a twit to him when he was just Clark.

Superman II had some stupid stuff with the 'Clark is Superman' reveal ... pink honeymoon suite. Good grief. And, there was some really wonky stuff in the fight with Zod in the Fortress of Solitude ... cellophane 'S', disappearing Superman.

And, the scene where Clark went back to that diner to get revenge on the guy that beat him up when he was powerless-Clark was out-of-character and out-of-place. Clark Kent wouldn't do that. Terrible scene from top-to-bottom. Poorly written. Poorly conceived. Poor understanding of the character, the story, and the concept. And, completely unnecessary.

The Donner Cut of Superman II was much better. Got rid of most of the crap. The Clark-reveal was much more well done ... made Lois clever rather than Clark a moron. Still had the stupid diner revenge scene, though.

Is it wrong to admit Superman III is my favorite of the Reeve Superman films :monkey3 :rotfl

Though I have to admit I was never that big a fan of the Reeve Superman movies, I just find 3 to be the most entertaining. Lana was so much better than Lois. I really need to see the Donner cut of Superman II.

LoL I completely disagree I&II are masterpieces from its time. III & IV are terrible IMO. In fact I don't acknowledge they exist. :lol

III always irritated me because of Richard Pryor's performance. He is one of the greatest comedians and sorely miscast in this. Almost like stunt casting. He would always play goofy and aloof no matter what movie he was in. It would have worked better if he was more subdued. I won't even go into iv...
I liked Returns. It has it's moments. I wish Bryan Singer let his version "breathe" a bit and move away from Donner's Superman and into his own vision. I don't think they've portrayed Lex Luthor as the real threat he should be.

How many ways can you make a Christopher Reeve Superman?

I could really go for a:
1. Christopher Reeve Clark Kent.
2. Evil Superman
3. Different headsculpt, such as the angry Superman when Lois dies.

I just hope that HT doesn't call it quits on the classic Superman license just yet. Oh boy would I be so mad if they made 50 variants of MOS and not the classics. :slap

I know a lot of people really like them, but the Christopher Reeve Superman films just aren't my cup of tea, even as a young kid I couldn't get into them. Superman III is bad, but its like a "B" movie bad, which is probably why I enjoyed it the most. Not trying to troll or start a fight, just my personal tastes. :peace

Can not wait for Man of Steel, only 5 short days to go. :yess:

I totally agree. Her hair is far too short in the movie to be anything but sculpted.
pretty sure it will be sculpted hair if they make her which I desperately hope they do

He said it seemed "hokey as ****."
:lol have to remember though that at one point Crowe also said that he'd never be caught dead in a comicbook superhero flick. He said he only decided to do this b/c he wanted a movie that his son could watch and if there was going to be one superhero movie he'd be in why not Superman. So he's not a fan of comicbook movies to begin with :lol

Guess it depends on your connection to Reeve as Superman. Would I buy a Reeve CK? of course. Am I chomping at the bit for more Reeve figures? no. He's not my favorite live action version of the character. I don't have one but if I had to pick, it would be George Reeves but even then it's a stretch. I'm hoping Cavil will be the live action Superman I've been waiting years to see. and if that happens then hell yes I want tons of versions of him and his supporting cast

I can't imagine there are any more Christopher Reeve Superman film figures coming. Too bad, because it would have been nice to see HT do a Clark Kent version and re-visit a Brando Jor-El, but I just don't see it happening. I'd actually really like to see a George Reeves figure get made at some point. I think he's just as iconic as Reeve and really deserves to have a figure done of him.

I'm honestly not sure if they could even do rooted hair for Faora with her hair so short in the movie, which is why I said sculpted. I just really want Faora to go with the probable Zod, and ultimately wouldn't care what they decide to do with her hair. Though I guess it will be rooted if they rooted Widow's hair and some thought it would be sculpted because of her short haircut in Avengers.:dunno

And yeah, I'm an idiot, I put an s on the end of his name, I fixed it.

No matter what I may personally think of this particular vision of the character, I completely agree. The original Superman movie is such an iconic and classic film, that Hot Toys really should have done more with the licence. A Clark Kent in some form, A Zod and another Brando Jor-El probably would have done pretty well for them. Even an Evil Superman would have been cool to see.

I'm honestly not sure if it would look better to have rooted hair for a Faora figure. That is why I said sculpted. yea but Faora's hair is much shorter than BW's hair. I'd say giving Faora rooted hair would be like giving the recent Storm Shadow rooted hair. Though it could ultimately be a licensor thing if they want her to have rooted hair or not. I think that's something a lot of ppl forget to take into account and just blame HT b/c it's the easy thing to do. But Like you, I don't care what the hair is like b/c I just want a figure of her. Almost more than Zod...blasphemy I know :lo,
