I'd actually really like to see a George Reeves figure get made at some point. I think he's just as iconic as Reeve and really deserves to have a figure done of him.
:goodpost::exactly:
That is a fantastic idea! HT make this happen!!! They could even do a black and white variant with an old tv as the HT box.

The wait for these is painful indeed.

Don't see how. The movIe has'nt even released yet and it's only been announced a few months.

Is it wrong to admit Superman III is my favorite of the Reeve Superman films :monkey3 :rotfl

Though I have to admit I was never that big a fan of the Reeve Superman movies, I just find 3 to be the most entertaining. Lana was so much better than Lois. I really need to see the Donner cut of Superman II.

Superman is my favourite. But Superman III comes next because I like Pryor, the comedy was good comedy, Lana and Clark got along well and it was fun.

I'd take that over a West Batman any day. Better show by a longshot.

Honestly, a Reeves figure would almost have to be a black-and-white version, though. That's the look I think of when I think of the old Superman shows. Having a Reeves Superman in color would almost be like making a Steamboat Willie, Mayberry Andy Griffith or Lucy Ricardo in color. Why bother?

I actually wouldn't mind a better version of the Routh Superman to go alongside Reeve and Cavill. I actually really liked the SR suit ... the HT figure didn't do it justice at all. It'd be great to see what they could do with it now ... though I see zero chance of that happening.

Still haven't talked myself into buying one of the older Routh Superman figures. I keep looking at them, and thinking they're not good enough for the price. Maybe the price will fall a bit after Cavill. Kinda doubt I'll ever get around to it.

It would be great to get an updated Routh Sculpt.
I put a DC Direct routh Suit on a DX10 body a few weeks back with a Reeve head.
Ignore the boots.

He said it seemed "hokey as ****."
Hate to say it but I tend to agree with him. Even as a kid I was never a big fan of the Reeve Superman films. The first is the best but to me they haven't held up that well and are really a product of their time. Then again as a kid I never liked the character much either aside from the random comic or Superman: The Animated Series on occasion.

I really am looking forward to how this turns out

I only have one DC Hot Toys figure and that's Christopher Reeve Superman, to have the modern incarnation of the character side by side would be nice

I'd probably pass on Routh even if I could get him purely because Superman Returns was just a continuation of the Donner movies, for me the Christoper Reeve Superman is all the representaion of those films that I need

But then if I really like the film then I may be tempted to get Jor-el and Zod (assuming they make him), in which case I'd be having all the MOS figures displayed together, leaving CR Superman alone on his FOS base

But he's so damn iconic he can carry himself, right? RIGHT!

He said he hasn't seen them, but has seen pictures from them and said the "costumes looked hokey as s***."

Damn, cold as ice.

I like R Crowe, despite his off screen persona. He's a great actor. But c'mon man, that movie was made in the 70s for crying out loud! And it was good! Yes, time hasn't been all that kind to it, but Chris reeve is what made the movie legendary!

Anyhow, I'm psyched for MoS....BA-RING IT!!!!!!

I like Crowe ... somewhat because of his off screen persona. Guys-guy through-and-through. And, he genuinely doesn't give a damn whether you like it or not. Admirable quality.

I agree with Crowe on this. I never much cared for Brando's Jor-El. Too stuffy, too Shakespearean. And, Donner's Krypton never really looked like a planet that anyone could actually have lived on. Much more hyped about Crowe's than I ever was about Brando's.

There was never chance I'd have spent $150+ on a Brando Jor-El HT figure ... good chance I'll buy Crowe's.

I get what you're saying and like Crowe, myself, but that's a pretty easy attitude to have when you're at the height of your powers, so to speak (rich, talented, handsome). I don't know, is being abusive to a bellhop (who has no recourse) really admirable? Personally I have a lot more respect for people that are powerful but humble (or try... no-one's perfect).

Agree about Brando, though. Too Shakespearean and didn't add a whole lot to the movie for me.

We've known about these for a while. Superman also appeals to a lot more people than an Xavier figure from First class. There's a reason HT haven't shown that figure.:lol

The waiting is going to be even more painful when they're finally revealed and we have to wait till March to get them, May with delays. :monkey1
(I really hope not, hopefully Superman will come out this year.)

I enjoyed the show until Michael Rosenbaum left. After that it got more hokey than usual. It was still good though. I really enjoyed the first 5 seasons. There were some really good plots for back stories on how Kryptonians visited earth hundreds of years prior. The whole Native American story ark portraying the return of a great warrior Numaan was very interesting. Suggesting that they had been visiting earth and studying the known galaxies for 1000's of years. Fits into the whole Ancient Aliens show/theory.

Yea, I definatly like the concept of Kryptonians visiting, but I think the story lost me when it was revealed that they were traveling via portals and could pop back and forth at their leisure. It was a lot cooler when it was assumed that visiting earth took years via space-ship and therefore was a fairly rare event.

If they could travel through portals, it begs the question as to why they couldn't have simply sent Kal-El and Kara through before the portals were closed. There was no need to use spaceships. In fact, it probably would have been easiest for everyone if the entire family just went through and raised Clark themselves.

But il agree with you that Lex was always awesome. Even when the show was at its worst, his writing and portrayal was great. Meanwhile Clark was often an idiot; and reduced to being more stubborn than a locomotive, and able to leap to wild conclusions in a single bound.

While the later seasons did have their occasional moments, I still stand by the fact that the show ultimately started sucking the moment that John Kent died. You can tell that is when Tom Welling started phoning it in.

I thought most of the really bad stuff was early-on, and it got better as it went along ... with the exception of Lex missing. Season 4's Lana-witch storyline was definitely the low point.

Smallville is a strange show. I get the feeling it'd be a lot better if it had been a cable show, and only required 13 episode seasons. There was a LOT of fat that could've been trimmed. But, most every season, there seems to be 8 or 10 episodes that are really good and worthy of being part of the Superman mythology. The trick is finding the gems among the rest.

at one point i loved smallville especially the clark and kara scenes but i stopped watching because it became too weird and stupid. i hope arrow doesnt follow that same path.

I put a DC Direct routh Suit on a DX10 body a few weeks back with a Reeve head.
Ignore the boots.

I wonder how Reeve would look like in a 2013 Man of Steel Henry Cavill body?

I am sure there will be plenty of images of that as soon as it gets released.

yea but Faora's hair is much shorter than BW's hair. I'd say giving Faora rooted hair would be like giving the recent Storm Shadow rooted hair. Though it could ultimately be a licensor thing if they want her to have rooted hair or not. I think that's something a lot of ppl forget to take into account and just blame HT b/c it's the easy thing to do. But Like you, I don't care what the hair is like b/c I just want a figure of her. Almost more than Zod...blasphemy I know :lo,

sorry, it's just a pet peeve of mine :wink1:

Me 2. I dont care if its rooted or not, i just want Faora HTs figure :)
But Faora's hair will be sculpted if they make her. Its too short not to be and completely agree with you.

But i really like BW's rooted hair. It needs to stand out because the red hair is part of who she is and part of her personality, so i think the rooted hair makes it stand out more, as it should.

Have a picture of all of that put together? How did the DCD suit look on the DX10 body? I thought the DCD SR suit was pretty big. I remember the figure looking pretty good quality ... but almost like a caricature in some of the proportions.

:goodpost: Faora is all i need from this movie......(i'll probably buy superman for the heck of it) but Faora is a must have. i love the rooted hair on the girls (all mine have came with great hair...so far...) but i agree that Faora needs/will have sculpted. another reason for this would be her helmet thingy i guess........
